Planète Langues
The International Institute of Rambouillet was founded in 1950. The International
Institute of Rambouillet offers linguistic and cultural programs using various to-
pics and techniques, favorising tailor-made lessons or programs. In a woodsy
park of 5 ha, the International Institute of Rambouillet provides its students
special learning conditions in a privileged place. The Internationnal surrounding
added to a wide range of options enable the students to get full immersion in
French culture and boost immediately their abilities to communicate in a profes-
sional or in general situation. The Institute is situated about 30 km away from
Paris, 20 minutes from Versailles by train.

Our company has offered foreign languages course since 1950. We have trai-ned teachers, experts in teaching french as a foreign language. Our site is down town, secured and set up on 50 000 square meters. We have 70 rooms, a library and a dedicated multimedia lab.
Our semi-intense 20 hours a week
schedule will leave the students with
unforgettable moments and me-
mories. The classes take place in the
morning from 9 am to 1 pm (an op-
tion of 30 hours a week with classes
in the morning and from 2 pm to 4
pm is also available). In the af-
ternoon classes, students can choose
between lessons and workshops. We
can organize private lessons if they
need to prepare for a specific field
(commercial, university entrance
exam…). They can also opt for a
different activity such as horse riding
(either after class or for a half day
initiation), golf, swimming, or tennis.
Their French skills will be tested on
arrival with one of our French tea-
cher. The teacher will decide what
his or her level is. Then the student
will join the most appropriate group.
Semi-intensive and
intensive courses
A 20 hours intensive program every
morning. From 9 to 1 pm: French
class and from 2 to 4pm: horse riding
lessons. If they want, they can com-
bine a 30 hours intensive course with
horse riding lessons starting at 4.30
pm in the beautiful “Haras de Gaze-
ran” (5 minutes from the Internatio-
nal Institute of Rambouillet). This
program is available to horse riding
beginners for a maximum of 4
weeks. They can also combine this
program with intensive weeks of
standard course if they want to rein-
force their French skills.

It combines advantageously a lin-
guistic program of 20 hours (full
hours), and a program aiming at dis-
covering French culture.
• Visiting historical spots: Versailles,
Paris (sightseeing, history, Arts, cu-
riosities), le château de Breteuil,
Chartres and its cathedral...
• Discovering: visit of a mill (making
bread), a chocolate factory, The ber-
gerie nationale, Espace Rambouillet
(the forest and wildlife..).
• Gastronomy: French wines, the
snails farm, cheese tasting at the
farm.
• Arts: Giverny “the impressionists”,
Auvers sur Oise, Orsay museum, a
visit to Montmartre…
• Cookery workshops: preparing a
typical recipe of a French region.
• Walking or cycling on special
roads /paths if you are nature lovers.

The lessons
The lessons are distributed on mornings
(9am-1pm) from Monday to Friday. Our
lessons are public with 2 different teach-
ers for morning sessions on 3 sequences
(the acquisition and ownership of struc-
tures / practice/ in depth study)
The teaching team
The team is composed of qualified
French teachers (degree or Master’s de-
gree). The group accompanying teachers
can attend our courses (they’re wel-
come!) We provide them with our learn-
ing center in order to share our resources
or material during their stay.
The method
We rely on our own method focusing on
authentic documents: scenario-based
games and activities of oral expression.
We do not use manual.
We follow the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages
and we display lessons from A1 to C2.
The learner should no longer have to
adapt to the method used but it shall be
the teacher’s priority to adapt to the
learner’s needs. Our teachers adapt to
individual needs within the group and
provide personalized answers to prob-
lems encountered by everyone in learn-
ing our language.
The courses offered by Planet Lan-
guages follow a communicative ap-
proach to language while cover ing the
four skills but with emphasis on oral
and written comprehension and oral
expression, writing is fur ther pro-
posed as homework and outside of
class.
The courses are divided into sequences
that can diversify depending on the
goals but follow in most cases this pro-
gram:
- Solicitation documents (audio/video/
press)
- Grammatical and lexical highlight in a
given communication situation
- Language practice: practical imple-
mentation of lexical and grammatical
points studied (role play / free and/or
monitored oral expression)
- Lexical and grammatical development

This course was awarded the
French foreign language quality
label issued by the Ministr ies of
Higher Education and Research, For-
eign and European Affairs and
Culture and Communication.
The course begins with a written and
oral test allowing the constitution of
the groups. The students are integrat-
ed into language level groups and dif-
ferent cultures. At the end of each
stay, a certificate of completion of
training (level reached by the stu-
dent after its formation) is established
in line with the European Framework
of Reference.
The accommodation
The accommodation is both on Campus
(doubles / singles) and in a residence
(studios Gauguin) located a 10 minute walk
from the Institute.
These are simple, double or triple studios
with toilet and bathroom in each
Double room: two students (same-sex)
sharing a room. Toilets and showers are
located on the landing of each floor.
Single room: the student is alone in his
room. Toilets and showers are located on
the landing of each floor.
Room (studio): they are a 10 minute
walk from the Institute. Each studio is fitted
with toilets and showers.
Warning! Sheets and blankets are pro-
vided but bring your towels!

The meals
We offer 3 meals a day in our
restaurant on campus.
Breakfast is French style
[baguette, butter, jam, crois-
sants (once a week), and cere-
als with coffee or hot choco-
late] and is served from 8am to
9am.
Lunch is served buffet style
from 1pm.
Dinner is also buffet style and
is served from 7pm.
Packed lunch are also available
when going to an excursion
(sandwich, chips, cookies, bot-
tle of water, apple, cheese…)

The outside school activities (in the afternoon)
You can organize the activities. We also offer cultural excursions and activities.
Our location (30 minutes from Paris and Chartres by train) allows us to offer many exceptional vis-its: Versailles Palace, the Cathe-dral and the medieval center of Chartres, the castle of Mainte-non... We also offer many original and unusual attractions: the snails’ farm, the Monet's house in Giver-ny...
The price of these activities is calculated according to your choice and is additional to the lessons and the full board ac-commodation.
