Advanced Routing

Enhanced Security

Virtual Switch Framework could virtualize multiple Dax switches into one logical device, achieves the sharing of information and data tables between different switches. The performance and ports density of virtualized device are greatly enlarged by many times under VSF. VSF also provides simplified management work for network administrator and more reliability.

Comprehensive QoS

Resiliency

DX-05XXGX-L3 series support IEEE 802.1X port-based access control and MAC-based access control to ensure all users are authorized before being granted entry into the network. Access Control Lists (ACLs) can be used to restrict access to sensitive network resources by denying packets based on L2/ L3/L4 header information. Secure Shell (SSH) encrypts network management information via Telnet for secure network management. RADIUS Authentication enables centralized control of the switch and restricts unauthorized users from altering the configuration of the switch. Anti DoS attacks ensures high security to the network.

Dax Layer 3 Advanced Gigabit GX series switches deliver hardware based IP routing for both IPv4 and IPv6. RIP v1/v2, OSPF v2 and BGP4 provide dynamic routing by exchanging routing information with other Layer 3 switches and routers. DVMRP, PIM-SM, PIM- DM and PIM-SSM Multicast Routing Protocols send IP multicast traffic from one subnet to another to support maximum data streams. IGMP snooping features forwarding of multicast packets for live streaming of voice and data without any swell up in network broadcast congestion. VRRP prevents your system from failing by dynamically backing up multiple L3 switches for routing.

Dax Layer 3 Advanced Gigabit GX switches supports 8 queues per port to enable differentiated management of up to 8 traffic types. Traffic is prioritized according to IEEE802.1p, DSCP, IP precedence and TCP/UDP port number, giving optimal performance to real-time applications such as voice and video. Bi-directional rate-limiting, per port or traffic class preserves network bandwidth and allows full control of network resources.

Dax Layer 3 Advanced Gigabit GX series switches support Rapid and Multiple spanning trees as per the IEEE standard. The availability of spanning tree supports the elimination of network loops. Link aggregation or port aggregation helps combine speeds by bundling multiple links and offering a high speed link catering to the network demand. Dax Layer 3 Advanced Gigabit switches support MRPP which is a ring protection protocol and aids in reducing network convergence time in a ring topology network. IGMP snooping prevents flooding of IP multicast traffic and limits bandwidth intensive video traffic to selected users.
