Our grade 5 & 6 students have safely returned from Camp Wyuna at Queenscliff. They participated in a

variety of activities including: surfing, canoeing, mountain bike riding, exploring the beach, the Queescliff Fort and the Discovery Centre. Back at camp, the GaGa pit was definitely a winner! A big thank you to Mr Greg Van Reit who organized the camp as well as Mrs Pauline Doonan and Mr Wes Teague who also went on camp. To our students congratulations on your behaviour and how you made the most of the opportunity to meet new people and make some new friends. Of course camps cannot go ahead without staff willing to go. I would like to sincerely thank Mr Z and Mrs O for sacri-ficing their family time and for being on call 24 hours a day while on camp. There will be a special camp feature in next week’s Classroom Wrap. As a whole school we entered the Shepparton Show “Decorate a Herd of Cows” competition again this year. This year’s theme was based on “Black Friday” as it coincides with being Friday 13th October. This year we won an orange ribbon and I have been trying to find out if it is a placing or an honorable mention but to date I have not had any success. If you do know what it represents can you please let me know. Last year, we received a white ribbon for general participation. Well done K.C.P.S.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome the very talented Mrs Jacqui Monk back this term to teach music /

drama in preparation for our End of Year School Concert. This year she will be here on

Mondays from 10.00am to 1.30pm, spending an hour with each class. We are planning a different type of concert this year so stay tuned for what we have installed. If we can pull it off it will be absolutely amazing … fingers crossed! We are extremely lucky to have Mrs Monk ~ thanks Jacqui! It is that time of the year again where we host our Scholastic Book Fair in our Library. The Fair will be open daily from 8.30am to 8.50am and again from 3.15pm to 3.45pm. It is at K.C.P.S. until Friday morning 27th October as it needs to be packed for collection that afternoon. Our school earns rewards for hosting a Fair, sales and re-booking another one for 2018. We use these bonuses to get books for our classrooms and library. Parents are encouraged and are welcomed to attend our Book Fair. On Monday 16th October, we had some of our students participate in the District Athletics Championships. They qualified for this next level of competition at our East Goulburn Primary School Sports Association’s Athletics Carnival last term. A full wrap of their results will be in next week’s newsletter.

As it is Term 4, our Junior School Council sell Quelches at lunch time as one of their fundraising activities. They are

available every lunch time for the cost of 50 cents each. Sales will start on Wednesday 18th October. Thank you to our J.S.C.

I would like to remind our families that if there is a change to your child/ren’s pick up arrangements that the school

needs to be notified. With the change of sports, I realise some families may co-ordinate rides to get to training, games or lessons but we need to be told too. Simply send a note or email to school, for example:

17th October 2017 Dear Miss H, For this Term, Debbie is going home with the Opies on Wednesdays for tennis training. If you have any questions I can be contacted on 5827 1373. Regards, Faye Humphries

I appreciate your support with this matter. We have had 2 new families join our Kialla Central team this week. Both Lilli and Isaiah are in Foundation, in Mrs Gamble’s grade. I would like to extend a warm welcome to their families and trust you will enjoy your time at our school.

Finally, congratulations to Peter and Jo Stonehouse who became grandparents for the first time. Their eldest daughter Ellen and her husband

Chris, announced the safe arrival of Elijah John on Sunday morning weighing in at 3.2 kgs. Nanna Jo is very proud of her grandson! Debbie Humphries Proud Principal of K.C.P.S.
