    About First Fridays and Downtown Goshen, Inc.: Downtown Goshen, Indiana – experiencing a boom of entrepreneurship and artistic endeavors within its community – launched a monthly showcase and block party to display to the surrounding region – especially to residents who had never gone downtown – all that downtown Goshen has to offer. The visual identity needed to be playful, accessible and contemporary, and included hints of the small details that distinguish downtown Goshen (like the chains holding up the Main Street concert hall’s marquee).

    About New World Arts and Season Ten: After a year of downtime for this downtown Goshen, Indiana theater, a larger campaign was needed to get local excitment buzzing for it’s tenth season. The campaign began with a video containing details about the season’s launch party, placed on www.theworldneedsten.com, while posters with this URl appeared around the county, on Facebook, and in digital signage ads targeting local internet users. A more traditional promotional campaign followed, closer to the event. The launch party, which took place January 11, 2008, was a full house, and led to sellout performances for the first show of Season Ten: Marisol.

    ABOUT DANNy PALMERDanny Palmer spent a lot of time chopping wood in the mountains of Oregon, taking photographs in West Michigan, running a black box theatre in Indiana, very nearly leading a group of hikers in Alaska, working for Congresspeople in D.C. and running across a frozen-over Walden Pond in the middle of the night (thinking the ice was breaking below him), before this California-native decided that he should just trust his instincts and make ideas and objects for living.

    Danny has been a digital creative for over 7 years, including work for Tracfone Wireless, NET10, Puma and Southern Comfort, for agencies such as Droga5 and CR8UND, and has bounced around as everything from a contracted creative director to part-time copywriter to sound designer to interface designer, from one interactive agency to another across the country.

    He is pretty bad at doing one thing at a time.

    His wife also buys him lots of stuff with silhouetted birds on it. He suspects, to much chagrin, that it’s her way of saying they need to travel more.

    Danny currently lives in Portland Oregon.
