hIn the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second

month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

(Genesis 7:11, 24)

And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the

waters were abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the

mountains of Ararat. (Genesis 8: 3-4)

hAnd the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place

prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days. (Revelation 12:6)

And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

(Revelation 12:14)

But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. And I will give power unto my two

witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. (Revelation 11: 2-3)

Converting the Length of the Prophecy From Total Number of Years

to Total Number of Days

Why? In order to gain a higher resolution of the prophetic picture

70 x 7 years = 490 years360 (days in a biblical year)

360 x 490 = 176,400 days

Two Events Mark the Beginning and the Ending of the First 69 Weeks

1.The going forth of the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem

2.The revealing of Messiah

Page 20: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

…consider the matter, and understand the vision

69 weeks x 7 weeks = 483 years483 years x 360 = 173,880 days

Or176,400 days (70 weeks) – 2,520 days (one week)

= 173,880 days (69 weeks)

The Command to Restore and Rebuild Jerusalem

King Artaxerxes’ decree to Nehemiah in 445 BC is the only one of the four that directly involves the

rebuilding of the City of Jerusalem.

The others involve rebuilding the temple.

The Command to Restore and Rebuild Jerusalem

And I said unto the king, Let the king live forever: Why should not my countenance be sad, when the city,

the place of my fathers’ sepulchers, lies waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? (Neh. 2:3)

The Command to Restore and Rebuild Jerusalem

And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king… (Neh. 2:1)

20th Year of Artaxerxes = 445 BC

The Command to Restore and Rebuild Jerusalem

Nisan is 1st Month of Jewish New Year and it is the month of Passover. The 1st of Nisan is determined by

the sighting of the new moon.

The Julian date for the new moon of the month Nisan, 445 BC is March 13, 445 BC

Page 26: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

…consider the matter, and understand the vision

The Command to Restore and Rebuild Jerusalem

The starting date for the Seventy weeksis March 15, 445 BC.

If our edict date is correct, then we should be able to project 173,880 days into the future and land on a date corresponding with the revealing of Messiah.

Page 27: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

…consider the matter, and understand the vision

In order to plot the 173,880 days onOur modern calendar, we can convert

The 173,880 days to solar years.

Page 28: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

…consider the matter, and understand the vision

173,880 days ÷ 365.2422 (actual length of solar year) = 476.0676614 solar years

173,880 days is 476 solar years plus a fraction of a year. To convert the fraction to days, we calculate:

.0676614 x 365.2422 = 24.7128 days, or we can just round up to 25 days.

Page 29: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

…consider the matter, and understand the vision

We can now begin at March 15, 445 BC and project 476 solar years and 25 days into the future.

March 15, 445 BC + 476 solar years = March 15, 31 AD.1 BC to 1 AD is one year, there is no 0 year.

This correction brings us to March 15, 32 AD.

When we add 25 days, we arrive at April 9, 32 AD.

Page 30: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

…consider the matter, and understand the vision

From March 15, 445 BC to April 9, 32 AD Is EXACTLY 476 solar years and 25 days, or 173,880 days.

What date does April 9. 32 AD correspond to on the Jewish calendar?

Page 31: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

…consider the matter, and understand the vision

Nisan 1, 32 AD fell on March 31.

So, April 9 (March 31 + 9 days) corresponds to Nisan 10, 32 AD

What event took place on Nisan 10, 32 AD just 4 days before Passover on Nisan 14?

Page 32: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. There they made Him a supper; (John 12: 1-2)

Nisan 14 (Passover) – 6 days = Nisan 8 (Friday April 7)

Jesus spent the Sabbath (Saturday April 8, Nisan 9) with Lazarus, Mary, and Martha and had dinner with them.

“And on the next day…”

Page 33: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

I would suggest that there is one single event which stands alone as the day that Jesus

was revealed as “Messiah the Prince”-

Palm Sunday, Nisan 10, 32 AD.

The staggering reality is that Daniel predicted this event over 500 years before to the very day!

Page 34: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

Did you ever wonder why Jesus refused to be revealedAs Messiah in the years leading up to Palm Sunday?

Page 35: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!”

And He, rebuking them, did not allow them to speak, for they knew that He was the Christ. (Luke 4: 41)

Page 36: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

Listen to the testimony of Jesus’ own words as Heapproached the city of Jerusalem:

Page 37: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, saying, If you had known, even you, at least in this

your day , the things which belong unto thy peace! But now they are hid from your eyes …because you knew not the time

of your visitation. (Luke 19: 41-44)

Page 38: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

The Pharisees were without excuse!

They would have used the lunar cycle, not the solar cycle when working out the timeline using Daniel’s prophecy.

There are exactly 5,888 new moons plus 8 days between Nisan 1, 445 BC and Nisan 10, 32 AD

This lunar timeline works out, to the day, with the same precise measurement as the solar timeline .

Page 39: Daniel’s Daniel’s Prophecy Seventy Of the Seventy Weeks

The Prophecy of the Seventy Weeks proves conclusively that:

Jesus Christ is the Messiah

Prophecy is futurist in nature and precise in accuracy

That the final “week” of this prophecy will come to pass with the same accuracy as the first 69 weeks
