Folklore of North Sumatra In Sumatra lived a very industrious farmer. He lived alone alone. Every day he worked on a field and looking for fish tirelessly. This was done to meet the needs of everyday life. One day the farmer went to the river near his home, he intends to find fish lauknya today. Armed with only a hook, bait and fishing spot, he immediately headed to the river. Once when he got in the river, the farmer immediately threw the hook. While waiting for the hook edible fish, the farmers prayed, "O Allah, I hope I can fish a lot today". Some time after the prayer, which threw the hook was visible wobbling. He immediately pulled the hook. The farmers are very happy, because he got a very big fish and beautiful. After a moment of staring at the fish catch, the farmer was very surprised. It turns out the fish they catch it could talk. "Please do not eat me sir!! Let me live ", shouted the fish. Without much Tanya, fish catch was immediately returned to the water again. Upon return the fish to the water, the farmers grew surprised, because the fish suddenly turned into a very beautiful woman. "Do not worry sir, I will not hurt you," said the fish. "Who are you? Are not you a fish?, Asked the farmer. "I was a princess who was cursed, for violating the rules of the kingdom," the woman said. "Thank you have redeemed me from the curse, and in return I am willing to make you a wife", she said. Farmers agreed that too. They then become husband and wife. However, there is a promise that has been agreed, that they should not tell me that the origins daughter of a fish. If the promise is breached there will be a terrible disaster. After some time they were married, Farmer and his wife finally happiness increases, because the Farmer's wife gave birth to a baby boy. Their son grew into a very handsome boy and powerful, but there are habits that make everyone wonder. Children are always hungry, and never feel full. All food rations dilahapnya without residue.

Until one day the farmer's son was given the job of mother to deliver food and drinks to the fields where his father was working. But the duty is not fulfilled. All meals are supposed to be devoured his father out, and after that he fell asleep in a hut. The farmer waiting for the arrival of his son, while holding thirsty and hungry. Because hunger does not hold, then he went straight home. On the way home, the farmer saw his son was sleeping in the hut. The farmer immediately wake. "Hey, wake up!, Shouted the farmer.

After his awakening, the farmer immediately asked her food. "Where food for father?", Asked the farmer. "It's gone I eat", she replied. With the high notes that farmers immediately scolded her. Di wilayah Sumatera hiduplah seorang petani yang sangat rajin bekerja. Ia hidup sendiri sebatang kara. Setiap hari ia bekerja menggarap lading dan mencari ikan dengan tidak mengenal lelah. Hal ini dilakukannya untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya sehari-hari.

Pada suatu hari petani tersebut pergi ke sungai di dekat tempat tinggalnya, ia bermaksud mencari ikan untuk lauknya hari ini. Dengan hanya berbekal sebuah kail, umpan dan tempat ikan, ia pun langsung menuju ke sungai. Setelah sesampainya di sungai, petani tersebut langsung melemparkan kailnya. Sambil menunggu kailnya dimakan ikan, petani tersebut berdoa,“Ya Alloh, semoga aku dapat ikan banyak hari ini”. Beberapa saat setelah

berdoa, kail yang dilemparkannya tadi nampak bergoyang-goyang. Ia segera menarik kailnya. Petani tersebut sangat senang sekali, karena ikan yang didapatkannya sangat besar dan cantik sekali.

Setelah beberapa saat memandangi ikan hasil tangkapannya, petani itu sangat terkejut. Ternyata ikan yang ditangkapnya itu bisa berbicara. “Tolong aku jangan dimakan Pak!! Biarkan aku hidup”, teriak ikan itu. Tanpa banyak Tanya, ikan tangkapannya itu langsung dikembalikan ke dalam air lagi. Setelah mengembalikan ikan ke dalam air, petani itu bertambah terkejut, karena tiba-tiba ikan tersebut berubah menjadi seorang wanita yang sangat cantik.“Jangan takut Pak, aku tidak akan menyakiti kamu”, kata si ikan. “Siapakah kamu ini? Bukankah kamu seekor ikan?, Tanya petani itu. “Aku adalah seorang putri yang dikutuk, karena melanggar aturan kerajaan”, jawab wanita itu. “Terimakasih engkau sudah membebaskan aku dari kutukan itu, dan sebagai imbalannya aku bersedia kau jadikan istri”, kata wanita itu. Petani itupun setuju. Maka jadilah mereka sebagai suami istri. Namun, ada satu janji yang telah disepakati, yaitu mereka tidak boleh menceritakan bahwa asal-usul Puteri dari seekor ikan. Jika janji itu dilanggar maka akan terjadi petaka dahsyat.Setelah beberapa lama mereka menikah, akhirnya  kebahagiaan Petani dan istrinya bertambah, karena istri Petani melahirkan seorang bayi laki-laki. Anak mereka tumbuh menjadi anak yang sangat tampan dan kuat, tetapi ada kebiasaan yang membuat heran semua orang. Anak tersebut selalu merasa lapar, dan tidak pernah merasa kenyang. Semua jatah makanan dilahapnya tanpa sisa.Hingga suatu hari anak petani tersebut mendapat tugas dari ibunya untuk mengantarkan makanan dan minuman ke sawah di mana ayahnya sedang bekerja. Tetapi tugasnya tidak dipenuhinya. Semua makanan yang seharusnya untuk ayahnya dilahap habis, dan setelah itu dia tertidur di sebuah gubug. Pak tani menunggu kedatangan anaknya, sambil menahan haus dan lapar. Karena tidak tahan menahan lapar, maka ia langsung pulang ke rumah. Di tengah perjalanan pulang, pak tani melihat anaknya sedang tidur di gubug. Petani tersebut langsung membangunkannya. “Hey, bangun!, teriak petani itu.Setelah anaknya terbangun, petani itu langsung menanyakan makanannya. “Mana makanan buat ayah?”, Tanya petani. “Sudah habis kumakan”, jawab si anak. Dengan nada tinggi petani itu langsung memarahi anaknya. "Anak tidak tau diuntung ! Tak tahu diri! Dasar anak ikan!," umpat si Petani tanpa sadar telah mengucapkan kata pantangan dari istrinya.Setelah petani mengucapkan kata-kata tersebut, seketika itu juga anak dan istrinya hilang lenyap tanpa bekas dan jejak. Dari bekas injakan kakinya, tiba-tiba menyemburlah air yang sangat deras. Air meluap sangat tinggi dan luas sehingga membentuk sebuah telaga. Dan akhirnya membentuk sebuah danau. Danau itu akhirnya dikenal dengan nama Danau Toba.

Tetesan dari kran yang tidak tertutup rapat itu semakin menerorku yang hingga tengah malam ini sukar untuk tertidur. Kulirik bulatan putih didinding yang terhalang remang-remang malam.

“Huff….. mana baru jam sebelas empat lima lagi,” bisikku pelan.

Entah sudah berapa kali aku membolak-balikan bantal usang yang hampir tidak tersentuh sabun selama aku pindah kekosan Bu Alina. Maklum aku adalah seorang siswi kelas tiga SMA yang merangkap menjadi pelayan disebuah restoran siap saji.

Sebelumnya aku tinggal dikosan Bu Dian, tapi karena terbelit hutang kanan kiri, ya dengan terpaksa aku kabur. Padahal malam itu Kak Danar, putra bungsu bu Dian bersikeras menghalangi kepergianku. Aku harus pergi dari pada tiap hari kena omel bu Dian, belum lagi cibiran pedas dari penghuni kos lain tentang hutangku yang belum aku bayar.

Berbekal uang tiga ratus ribu rupiah, hasil penjualan ponsel lamaku . Aku memberanikan diri untuk tinggal dikosan baru dengan menjanjikan upahku sebagai pelayan restoran.

“Akhir bulan nanti segera cair, bu.” bujukku kepada bu Alina saat dia menolak rencanaku tinggal di kossannya.

“Bukan karena kondisi keuanganmu dek Mayang, tapi memang kamar kos disini sudah penuh.” Sahutnya lembut.

Ya memang benar, aku lihat rumah besar yang terdiri dari lima kamar dilantai satu telah penuh sesak diisi oleh sembilan orang penghuni kos dan satu asisten pribadi Bu Alina.

Tapi dengan berbagai pertimbangan, akhirnya beliau menyerahkan kamar putri semata wayangnya yang tengah mengenyam pendidikan di Jepang kepadaku.

“Haduh betapa beruntungnya diriku ini.” Fikiriku sesaat setelah Bu Alina mengesahkan kamar kebanggaan putrinya kepadaku. Betapa tidak kamar ini begitu luas dan satu-satunya kamar yang memiliki toilet sendiri. Apalagi bu Alina dengan cuma-cuma meminjamkan kasur dan meja rias milik putrinya. Hanya saja dia dia tidak membolehkan aku menggunakan lemari besar dikamar itu, mungkin karena lemari itu telah diisi penuh oleh barang-barang milik putrinya.

Tapi untung saja dimeja rias menempel sebuah lemari kecil yang masih bisa aku gunakan untuk menyimpan pakaian ku, dan sebagian lagi bisa aku gantung di pegantungan di belakan pintu.

Kembali kulihat jam, kali ini tepat pukul dua belas malam dan aku aku masih terjaga. Tiba-tiba “Wwhuuuuussshh……..” sekebat angin kencang masuk kerongga kamarku, menyisakan sosok putih yang melambai-lambai didepanku. Seketika aku terkejut, “Sial aku hampir saja membiarkan jendela terbuka semalaman.” Gerutuku sambil menutup jendela dan membenarkan tirai putih yang tersapu angin.Aku kembali merebahkan tubuh mungilku di kasur besar nan empuk ini. Pelan tapi pasti mata ini mulai menutup.

Byuuuuurrrrr…… Suara guyuran air mengagetkanku.

“Jam segini siapa yang mandi sih? Ganggu orang saja!” gerutuku kuesalOtaku mulai berfikir waras “Tapi asal suaranya dari…….” Entah mengapa bibirku benar-banar tertahan. Kulirik pintu toilet, dan benar saja dari lubang kunci pintu toilet sesosok wanita berambut panjang tengah tertunduk kaku dibawah cipratan air shower.“Apa mungkin dia putrinya bu Alin?” fikirku membuyarkan rasa takutku sendiri.Tanpa berfikir panjang lagi, aku segera beranjak pergi. Namun, baru beberapa langkah menuju tempat tidur, suara tangisan memaksaku untuk kembali.“Kkenapa Mbak? Mmbak ggak kenapa-napakan?” tanyaku sedikit gugup.Dia tak kunjung menjawab pertanyaanku, malah tangisannya semakin menjadi.“Hiks……hiks…… tolong aku hikksss….”Suara tangisan itu menggema mendominasi kamarku. Aku benar-benar panik. Sekuat tenaga kucoba rubuhkan pintu berbahan plastik itu, dan hasilnya nihil. Tangisannya pelan-pelan meredup. Kulihat kembali dari lubang kunci, dan betapa kagetnya aku saat kulihat tubuh wanita misterius itu kini tak utuh lagi. Berdiri lesu sesosok tubuh tanpa kepala, lehernya dipenuhi daging yang berantakan. Dan cipratan darah segar menodai dinding-dinding toilet.Tubuhku benar-benar terasa bergetar dan tak bisa mengatakan apa-apa. Saat ku alihkan mataku kearah lantai toilet, tergeletak sebuah kepala berambut panjang bersama sebilah gergaji di sampingnya. Aku semakin berguncang hebat, entah apa yang aku fikirkan saat itu. Rasanya aku ingin berlari ke kamar penghuni lain untuk meminta bantuan. Tapi aku sama sekali tak bisa bergerak, piyamaku terjepit engsel pintu.“Haaaaaaaaa…… tolong!!!!!” aku berteriak sekencang-kencangnya. Dengan tergesa-gesa kugigit piyamaku. Dan Seeeeeetttt, bagian belakang piyamaku berhasil robek. Aku berlari sekencang-kencangnya memburu pintu keluar kamar.Creek….creeeek…..“Arrggght….. kenapa gak bisa dibuka? Aku semakin panik.Segera ku ambil posisi kuda-kuda dan... Bruuukkkk…… tendanganku merobohkan sebilah pintu yang terbuat dari kayu.Nafasku terasa sesak mencium bau anyir darah yang menusuk ke paru-paru. Tapi aku semakin menggila dan ketakutan saat kulihat pemandangan aneh dari balik pintu kamarku.“Ttttoilet???” tanyaku bingung. Ternyata toilet yang sama, hanya saja yang membedakan tinggal kepala yang tergeletak dilantai.

Kepala berambut panjang itu pelan-pelan menoleh dan menyeringai kepadaku.

“Hyaaaaa…..!"

Creeeekkkkk

Seseorang membuka pintu kamarku, dia mnyeringai hangat dan mendekatiku.

“Rupanya kamu demam ya May?” sahut Bu Alina sambil menempelkan punduk tangannya di keningku.

“Syukurlah ternyata cuma mimpi,” bisiku pelan.
