Till and drill combinations with D9 Super and D9 Special mounted seed drills
The AMAZONE „Liftpack“ system allows the combi-
nation of D9 Super and D9 Special with AMAZONE KE
rotary harrow and KG rotary cultivator in conjunction
with the AMAZONE roller programme.
In this way seed bed preparation and sowing is done
in one operational pass. With a few hand catches the
D9 allows for uncoupling for solo operation.
All AMAZONE mounted seed
drills are as standard equipped
with large land wheels with a
diameter of approx. 600 mm
in order to reduce undesirable
wheel marks.
To reduce the lifting power requirement and to increase
the ground clearance underneath the coulters during
transport and when turning, the seed drill is brought
up and forwards by the AMAZONE „Liftpack“ system.

On the D9 Super hydraulic rams lift the bout markers
from the operational position into the vertical transport
position. This allows the sowing on fi eld ends and the
convenient negotiations of in-fi eld obstacles and when
the bout markers are switched over the tramlining con-
trol advances automatically to create tramlines at the
desired rhythm. The bout markers of the D9 Super are
protected from damage via shear pins.
D9 Super
The strong design allows for the increase of the
seed box with extensions up to 1000 l in 3 m wor-
king width.
The bout markers of the D9 Special are lifted into the
horizontal position or lowered with the aid of a hy-
draulically actuated marker change over.
Actuation by a single-acting control valve allows the
hydraulic tramline control to advance on every change-
over.

In working widths of 2.50 and 3.00 m is the seed drill
designed for small to medium size farms. This offers
the small farm or the part time farmer the possibility to
make use of AMAZONE quality with a machine parti-
cularly value for money. That means: No compromise
on metering accuracy and seed bed preparation. Seed

AD3 Special and AD3 Super Pack Top seed drillsfor conventional and mulch sowing
suitable for the medium to larger farms. The AD3 seed
drill is quickly mounted onto the packer roller of the
soil tillage implement.
Till and drill combinations with AD3 Super and AD3 Special
The AD3 Super Pack Top seed drills offer a compact,
easy to lift sowing combination ideally suited for
medium to large farms to make this seed drill very
often being used in combination with a rotary
cultivator, wedge ring roller and RoTeC coulters
the universal combination for both con-
ventional and mulch sowing.
Compact, robust and close coupled for easy lift
For solo cultivation without sowing the AD3 Pack Top
seed drill with just a few quickly released hand cat-
ches, can be easily removed from the packer roller
of the rotary harrow or the rotary cultivator.
Due to the mechanically driven metering system
functioning without a blower fan enables the seed drill
to be simply mounted onto a rotary harrow.
The AD3 can also be combined with rotary harrows
of other manufacturers.
The AD3 Special is a cost effective drill especially
when used in conjunction with WS (suffolk) coulters,
drag tine harrow and as a complete combination with
a rotary harrow. The over-dimensioned star wheel
drive ensures accurate grain metering, even in diffi cult
conditions.

Wedge ring roller – targeted reconsolidation for optimum crop emergence
Wedge ring roller
Re-consolidation is the most important purpose of the
roller. Via rubber rings the wedge ring rollers provide
re-consolidated strips in to which the seed is placed.
The following harrow covers the seed with loose soil
from the non consolidated strips.
The strip wise re-consolidation always provides the
plant with soil conditions matching the actual weather
conditions and thus creates the ideal pre-conditions
for quick and even plant emergence. Thus the wedge
ring roller is the guarantee for sowing right in time.
Sowing insurance!
In very dry conditions –
water pump principle
The re-consolidated strips provide the soil contact di-
rectly in the seed furrow. In this way even in dry con-
ditions the seedling is provided with capillary water.
The wedge ring roller gets the soil to work like a water
pump.
10
loose
soilre-consolidated
strips
Very wet conditions –
drainage principle
The loose soil between the rings absorbs the rain very
well and stores it. Large amounts of rain fall just seep
into the unrolled loose areas, preventing soil erosion.
Here the soil acts as a drain.
Even in heavy, wet soils there is suffi cient loose soil
in between left the strips to cover the seed with loose
soil.
Gaseous exchange –
lungs principle
The loose soil allows a gaseous exchange so that all
roots can breathe.

Normal seed wheelFine seed wheel
Metering, seed box
Seed box and seed rate adjustment
The seed rate adjustment allows
varying the seed rate following the
soil conditions whilst driving. The
hydraulic seed rate adjustment
is connected to the control valve
together with the hydraulic coul-
ter pressure and harrow pressure
adjustment. Where the coulter- and
harrow pressure increases, e.g.
where clay is dominant, the seed
rate can be increased as well. With
the electronically controlled seed
rate adjustment in conjunction
with AMATRON+ the seed rate can
be changed up and down in steps
at choice.
With the fi lling indicator the seed level is shown on the front of the seed
box with a fl oat body in the seed box. When the seed box lid is opened
this fl oat body is raised automatically so that its correct functioning is
always ensured.
The rape insert is simply inserted
into the seed box to reduce the
residue of rape seed.
The strong folding seed box lid, rubber sealed, covers the large seed box
and protects its contents from ingress of rain water and dust. With
its tubular handle and a gas fi lled strut the lid is comfortable handled. The
enlarged seed boxes and extensions allow for capacities varying from 450
litres to 1000 litres on a 3 m working width. Large access steps and strong
handrails offer complete safety when walking onto the loading board.
With the correct metering system your seed pays back in gold!
Metering and calibration with highest precision via Vario-Control
The infi nitely variable, step-less
operating, setting gearbox is main-
tenance-free and convenient to
handle. For sowing rape the agita-
tor shaft can be stopped by pulling
a lynch pin. By simply releasing a
few hand catches the machine is
ready for the calibration test.
With the AMAZONE metering
system the seed wheels are force
fed from above similar to a cell
wheel. This way deviation between
calibration test and seed rate
through uneven seed wheel fi lling
is avoided.
Control seed wheels:
The combination of fi ne seed
wheel and normal seed wheel
allows the application of seed rates
between 2 and 400 kg/ha without a
seed wheel change. The changeo-
ver is done within seconds.
The infi nitely variable Vario gearbox results in a step-less fl ow of seed allowing the utmost sowing accuracy
with seed rates from 400 kg down to only 2 kg per hectare. Needless to say, all seeds like rape, grass, grain,
peas and beans are sown with the same uniform accuracy.
Vario gearboxControl seed wheels
The new metering system has
been optimised in regard to be-
haviour of both delivery and lon-
gitudinal distribution and this has
been achieved by the 80 mm seed
wheel in conjunction with the newly
designed bottom fl aps and the
metering housings. Because of the
large diameter seed wheels the
seed is singled during the metering
procedure making for a very gentle
handling. The infi nitely variable
Vario gearbox ensures a perfectly
even drive.

WS- / RoTeC coulter
Seed embedment through the RoTeC coulter for con-ventional and mulch sowing – Silver Medal Agritechnica
The RoTeC coulter is equipped as
standard with a combined depth
limiter and cleaning disc alongside
the main disc to allow a tool-less
setting of the sowing depth. The
new RoTeC coulters have been
designed to minimise wear and to
optimise sowing accuracy, area
output and longevity. Even where
large amounts of straw or trash
prevail the RoTeC coulters won‘t
block up. The combination of
sowing disc on one side and the
special cast seed shoe on the other
optimise seed control in the soil.
The elastic polyurethane disc also
helps to create the seed furrow,
accurately controls the pre-set so-
wing depth and prevents soil from
sticking to the sowing disc.
The combination of a high coulter
pressure (35 kg) and disc coulter
supported by the polyurethane disc
results in an even coulter ride and
hence, an accurate seed place-
ment.
For exceptionally deep working the
polyurethane disc can be instantly
removed.
Shallow sowing depths, e.g. grass,
on lighter soils can be achieved
with the special shallow depth disc.

Seed embedment with the WS (suffolk) coulter following the plough – robust and precise
The WS- (suffolk) coulter is ideally suited for con-
ventional sowing or where little straw prevails, e. g.
after rape or turnips. The hard cast coulter tip material
ensures an extended service life and for large farms
with hardwearing soils the big advantage is the quick
coulter tip change by the removal of just one bolt.
The coulters are arranged in 3 rows and this large
coulter clearance offers security against blockage
within the coulters. Inside the coulter a guide funnel
delivers the seed accurately down to the coulter tip
and the backup fl ap prevents accidental coulter
blockage even if the drill is lowered.
For very shallow seed placement on light soils or for
mulch sowing where little straw prevails, the sabre
coulter tip has been developed. The sabre and the
WS coulter tips can easily be interchanged.
Band sowing shoes can be easily clipped on each
coulter and distribute the seed in strips and also can
be used for reducing the placement depth.

Press roller – the perfect teamwork of roller, coulter, press roller, and harrow
Press rollers for the RoTeC coulter
For improving the seed embedment sprung sus-
pended press rollers are available for all AMAZONE
pack top seed drills. Especially for fi ne seeds such as
rape - with little moisture - but also for sowing cereals
these can be utilised.
The newly developed press roller for the AMAZONE
RoTeC coulter precisely follows the seed furrow and
presses the seed on to the bottom of the furrow.
Important: Rollers and coulters operate independent-
ly from each other. The depth guidance is still carried
out via the depth limiter disc and not via the press rol-
ler. The AMAZONE press roller is sprung suspended.
The roller pressure allows adjustment, at choice, from
5 kg up to 15 kg. The seed furrow is always covered
with loose soil via the exact following harrow.
This system ensures the very even re-consolidation
with improved seed emergence also in heavily chan-
ging soil conditions.
Important: The following press roller can be removed
without tools, for example at unfavourable conditions,
such as late sowing in wet autumn season alleviating
any blockage problems due to sticking soil.
Wedge ring roller RoTeC roll disc coulter
Press roller
Exact following harrow
The RoTeC-coulter with press roller provides a smoother
run than a coulter with parallelogram suspension and
rigidly arranged following roller. On the RoTeC coulter
with its sprung suspended press roller the coulter,
when for example hitting a stone, is only lifted once,
whereas on a parallelogram with the roller rigidly fi xed
to the coulter, twice. RoTeC coulters are operated with
a coulter pressure of up to 35 kg. Due to the oversized
springs the press roller acts like a damper for the coul-
ter, therefore ensuring the coulter runs very smoothly.

AMALOG+ and AMATRON+
on-board computer
The AMALOG+ and AMATRON+ on-board computers
control the tramline system and the pre emergence
marker.
Tramline creation is controlled via a sensor and the re-
programming to other tramline rhythms is very simple.
Operational position of track markers and tramline
rhythm, sown area and seed level are indicated.
Additionally AMATRON+ allows for the adjustment of
the seed rate from the tractor cab. e.g. in 10% steps
and creating tramlines on slopes. For this in the tram-
line cereal seeds are sown and then not sown so that,
although the tramline is still visible, any water erosion
in the tramlines is slowed down by the sown areas.
With the integrated serial interface the AMATRON+
can also be used in combination with the GPS termi-
nal for part area site specifi c sowing.
The large discs of the pre emergence markers clearly
trace the tramlines so that the tramlines are visible
prior to the seed emergence. This improves the view
when creating tramlines and is required for pre-emer-
gence spraying.
Comfort without limits
In addition the drill wheel
marks can be eradicated
in front of the outer coul-
ter through a wheel mark
eradicator tine with stone
safety device.
For solo operation moun-
ted seed drills are equip-
ped with wheel mark
eradicators which level the
tractor track from out-
side. Strengthened spring
suspended eradicators
are available for very stony
soils.

Seed coverage through the exact following harrow – precise and effi cient
The exact following harrow covers the open seed
furrow operating without blockage even with large
amounts of surface trash. With its individually pivoting
harrow elements the exact harrow follows the undula-
tions of the soil and ensures an even seed coverage on
soils either with or without straw. The coulter pressure
and the harrow pressure are centrally adjusted, either
mechanically or hydraulically. On the hydraulic pressure
adjustment a series of locating pins predetermines the
minimum and maximum settings.
This way both the coulter and harrow pressure are linked
together and so can, during operation, be adapted to
changing soil conditions with only one tractor control
valve. RoTeC coulters and exact following harrow with central, hydraulic pressure adjustment.
The drag tine harrow is normally used in conjunction
with WS coulters. For soils, where little or no straw
prevails this is a reasonable and soil saving alternati-
ve. The harrow fi xing via a linkage of four bars allows
the harrow to pivot up and thus prevents any damage
if the drill is unintentionally reversed.
