System (TWIDS).

Since its first installation over 30 years agoit has been accepted universally as the ONEsystem which can be totally relied upon, and which combines an unequaledProbability of Detection (PoD) with avirtual absence of either False Alarms orNuisance Alarms.Because the DTR-2000 has no weather, terrain or other environmental limitations,

it has been giving reliable, trouble andmaintenance free service — in dry andscorching desert conditions; under severestorms; in tropical, hot and humid climates— as well as in sub zero snow coveredareas.

FENCE CONFIGURAT I O NThe heart of this system is an electro-mechanical sensor which — uponactivation — sends a signal to theComputerized Control Center (CCC).The CCC evaluates this signal, sounds analarm, and gives a clear indication of thetype and location of this intrusionattempt.

The DTR-2000 can be installed as a freestanding fence on most existing fenceposts, thus serving as a true physicalintrusion barrier — or it can be wallmounted to detect any climbing over thewall or fence. Roofs and other suchsurfaces can be equally well protected byshort outrigger-type posts, assuring thatbuildings which are located near thefence will not serve as possible “weakspots” to intruders.

SYSTEM PERFORMANCEOne of the main problems with any alarmsystem is the unacceptable number ofFalse and Nuisance Alarms that theyproduce. Thus, frequently, an alarm issimply disregarded by the guard person-nel — with obvious dire results. TheDTR-2000 system is free of this problem— correctly installed it is guaranteed tohave less than one False Alarm perKilometer of system per Three Months. And — this extremely low rate notwith-standing — the Probability of Detectionapproaches 100%!

Cutting the fence wires, spreading them, climbing over them on a ladder orthrough them, cutting the communicationcable or trying to tamper with the sensoritself will all cause an immediate alarm.Due to the fact that a force of less thanabout 15 kg (33 lb.) will not activate thesensor, small animals such as rabbits, dogs, snakes, birds etc., will NOT causean alarm.

THE DTR SENSORThe patented electro-mechanical sensorautomatically adjusts to any slow soilmovement or temperature change, andDOES NOT ever require periodic adjust-ment. It is set by the manufacturer tomaximum sensitivity, and is thus immuneto possible decrease insensitivity by inexperienced personnel.

The DTR-2000 sensors are mounted onSensor Posts, located halfway betweenadjacent Anchor Posts. Barbed (orbarbless) wires are pre-tensioned betweenthe Anchor Posts, at small distancesbetween them, thus presenting an array ofwires impossible to penetrate withoutcausing an alarm. Sensors in each SensorPost are divided into six separate alarmgroups. The CCC continuously monitorsall sensors, and in case of maintenance orrepair to one group, all other sensors, onall sensor posts, continue functioningnormally.

The monitoring of the sensors, as well asthe Alarm Reporting is accomplishedthrough the State of the Art Sensor PostReporting Unit (SPRU) installed on eachSensor Post and linked to the CCC bymeans of the Communication Cable. Each Sensor Post is protected againstsensor tampering by means of a tamperproof cover, also monitored by the CCC.

SYSTEM INSTA L L AT I O NThe DTR-2000 system, in its freestanding configuration, is installed oneither an existing carrying fence(provided this fence meets certain designcriteria and specifications supplied byMagal) or on a fence specifically con-structed for that purpose.Because of the pre-tensioned wires, theAnchor Posts must be rigid enough and

sufficiently supported to withstand thesetensioning forces. Sliding devices(“spirals”) are located at intervals of 1.5 to 2 m (5 ft. to 6.6 ft.) between theposts, maintaining proper wire spacingand converting wire deflection in anydirection into lateral motion necessary toactivate the sensors.

OPTIONAL ADD-ON SYSTEMSAdditional alarm devices, such as flood-lights, sirens, CCTV cameras, etc. maybe connected to any Sensor Post in thesystem, and activated either manually orby the Sensor signal.

Thus, a guard can visually confirm anintrusion attempt by viewing the intruderon a monitor, without having to watchthat monitor at all times — a tiring taskrequiring the frequent change of operatorpersonnel.

UNIVERSAL SUITA B I L I T YThe DTR-2000 is unaffected by EMI/RFI,or by climatic conditions. It is protectedagainst lightning and can be supplied forany site length, terrain, reasonable systemheight or configuration.

It is thus suitable for any and all highsecurity sites requiring the best securitywith high reliability.
