Introduction

Thank you for taking the time to review the 2008

Hub Racing Sponsorship Proposal. The purpose of

this proposal is to introduce ourselves and show

how sponsorship can benefit you.

Cycling is a great opportunity to generate

advertising exposure, increased public interest and

an enhanced public image through the sponsorship

of a professional cycling team.

Hub Racing is an organization which offers

involvement in a complete program that promotes

cycling and a clean healthy lifestyle.

Who is HUB Racing?

“Hub Racing” is a Washington DC based USA Cycling

club dedicated to the fielding of an elite international

women’s road racing team as well as promotion of

cycling events in the National Capital Region.

The long list of individual championships held by Hub

Racing’s elite women riders includes three National

Champions from three different continents.

Hub racing also fields a messenger racing team

that has won 14 Cycle Messenger World and

Continental Championships.

Hub Racing hosts Washington DC’s only bicycle

race, the City Bikes Criterium, held for the past four

years at RFK Stadium.

Hub Racing is a proud supporter of the Doug

Gordon Memorial Easter Seals Fund as well as

being the ride leaders for WABA community rides.

Hosted by HUB RACING, the City Bikes Criterium is

Washington DC’s only annual bicycle race. In 2006

and 2007 the race boasted a $5000 purse in the

Women’s Pro event.

The race is held on the Grand Prix Race Course

at historic RFK Stadium originally designed for the

Grand Prix Auto race series.

Begun in 2003 as part of the North American Cycle

Courier Championships, the City Bikes Criterium is

now a Show Case event on the MABRA calendar.

The City Bikes Criterium attracts racers from all

over the country and features one of the largest

prize lists in the region.

Portions of proceeds from the race are donated to

the Doug Gordon Memorial Easter Seals Fund and

the race serves as a platform for WABA, the local

bicycling advocacy organization.

20 minute feature story about the 1998 Cycle Messenger World Championships which we organized and

promoted. Narrator Boyd Matson rode a Cannondale, our sponsor bike, through out the entire show.

Travel Channels “Weird Wheels” feature on our team’s trip to Edmonton for the North American Cycle Courier

Championships including showing our victory.

Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority’s “Bikes on Metro” program flyer features two of our riders

including sponsor equipment and logos. Over 1 million printed and distributed to date.

DC Department of Transportation “Safe Streets” flyer lists our website. Over 500,000 printed and distributed

to date.

Several feature article’s about us in the Washington Post including sectional front page photos.

CBS affiliate WUSA news promotion about our bicycle race, Washignton DC’s only bicycle race. Multiple ap-

pearances on local and national news programs in 2006.
