WORK HISTORY

Optimum Coal

Dragline Operator Duties and Responsibilities: 1981 – 1988 (7 years)

Ensure that the dragline crew work safely and productively

Digging is conducted according to the digging plan

The dragline is positioned correctly and that the dragline is standing level

Stand preparation is conducted well in advance to prevent production delays

The next dragline position is planned and measured out

The trailing cable is moved and demarcated

The void/trench is dug and maintained according to the required standard to allow water drainage and prevent coal

contamination

The coal seam in front of the dragline is properly cleaned and demarcated

Ensure straight and battered high wall are maintained

Pre-shift inspections on the dragline and ancillary equipment is done at the beginning of the shift and that reports are

signed off and submitted

Hourly reporting to the control room the number off swings and production delays

Shift hand over at the beginning and end of each shift is conducted according to the required standard
