and urban areas. Programs aim to
address the issues faced by many Ohioans
in areas such as soil, plant, water, and
nutrient relationships, watershed
protection and management, natural
resource and environmental economics,
aquatic and terrestrial life, and more.

Programming Strictly for
Results
Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) in
Ohio and the surrounding world essentially
are the basis of everyday living. Each and
everyone of these resources must be
maintained to ensure that they remain free of
anything that could pose a potential threat,
especially in regards to human health.
Central State University Extension is moving
ahead to address any issue threatening
Ohio’s Agriculture and its Natural Resources
to enhance every aspect of Agriculture and
Natural Resources around the state.

Gives growers and producers additional
options to their existing traditional farming
practices.
Extending Growing Seasons
Teaching a variety of ways to shelter your
crops or ornamentals for a longer season,
and larger harvest.
Soil Sampling & Testing
Discussing the different procedures and
techniques used in soil sampling, soil testing,
and understanding soil test results and
recommendations.
Zoonotic Disease Transmission Prevention
Learn preventative measures of disease
transmission from animals that carry
organisms causing these diseases.
Cover Cropping
Explaining the different methods of
selecting, producing, and terminating cover
crops.
The Benefits of Agriculture and Natural Resources Programming: Farmers, Producers, and Interested
Organizations and Institutions will learn the
advantages of each program and how to
implement them.
Interested Organizations and Institutions will be
able to effectively train and educate students
and community members on all Agriculture and
Natural Resources programs and where they fit
into their daily lives.
The state of Ohio and its ANR-related
organizations will be able to establish a long-
term relationship with Central State University
Extension to collaborate on many programming
efforts creating a far more effective
programming for all organizations and
institutions.
Ensuring Ohio’s Resources
The Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Program at Central State
University provides outreach, education, and awareness to all Ohioans while
enhancing sustainability to their most valuable resources.

the targeted audience for this program.
Program Format:
Workshops with multiple sessions
providing training materials on
programming, educational and
photographic materials, and videos
showing programs at work will
provide training for each program.
Training and training materials will
be made available to others for
future programming across the state
of Ohio.
