Lesson 1: Classroom Lesson 2: Computer Lab Lesson 3: Computer Lab Introduce project o Dictation activity with jingle o Notate 4measure jingle on staff paper Explain parameters of project o Choose jingle, notate in Noteflight, arrange in GarageBand o Students collaborate with each other, groups of 23 o Promote creative thinking re arranging in new style Remaining class time used for brainstorming/researching jingles Students must begin notating by Lesson 3 Begin class by playing teacher example All students create Noteflight accounts Guided brainstorming o Students use YouTube and other internet resources to choose a jingle o Must checkin with teacher before end of class to share plan/ideas Students must begin notating during this class period. Students must begin recording by Lesson 5. Throughout the class, students will work independently and in groups to notate the jingle they chose in Noteflight. o Students can notate the melody only, but must make notes of the harmonic structure (Roman Numerals, Lead Sheet notation, etc) Students or student groups will peer edit at the end of this class to check project Lesson 4: Computer Lab/Classroom Lesson 5: Classroom Lesson 6: Classroom Split class into groups: those who are ready to begin recording and those who are not. Computers with internal mics, external mics, and MIDI instruments will be available for use Those who are not ready to record continue notating with teacher assistance All students are recording by this lesson Continue monitoring students with equipment Most students will begin editing and producing the jingles Lesson 6 is the last workday Assist students in wrapping up recording, editing, and producing Students share .band files, notations, andmp3s via EChalk Dropbox by Lesson 7 Remaining work is homework due by Lesson 7
