General Information

Nursing Contact Hours5.75 contact hours have been requested to the National League for Nursing. The National League for Nursing is an authorized provider through the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Students will receive a certificate of attendance.

Successful Completion RequirementsRegister the day of the conference. Attend 80% of the workshop. Complete an online evaluation within 10 days of the conference, the link will be emailed to you at the conclusion of the workshop. CNE certificates will be emailed within 30 days of the conference to those who meet all stated criteria.

Target Audience This workshop is designed for nurse educators teaching at all levels; BSN, ADN, Diploma, and PN. Nursing Students are encouraged to come to the NCLEX Mini Review Session.

Registration Send registration form and fees to: Missouri League for Nursing,

604 Dix Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109. Telephone 573-635-5355 and faxed 573-635-7908 registrations must be charged by Discover/MC/Visa. You may register and pay online at mlnmonursing.org. We cannot bill you. Onsite registrations will be allowed, based on availability, with payment of fees plus an additional $15.

Cancellation Policy There is a $50 non-refundable cancellation fee. No

refunds for cancellations made less than five business days prior to the conference. Cancellations must be received in writing. No refunds or credits will be made if registrant fails to attend. Substitutes are allowed.

Workshop Includes lunch and refreshment breaks. A full breakfast is

provided for overnight hotel guests in the hotel restaurant. Those not staying in the hotel can pre-purchase a full hot breakfast in the Embassy dining area for $15.00 (added to registration fee).

Handouts A link to the handouts will be emailed one week prior to the pro-

gram. It is your responsibility to print off the handouts and bring them with you to the conference, or if you prefer, download them on an electronic device and bring your computer with you. There is no internet access within the meeting room, be sure your handouts are downloaded prior to coming. Be sure you use an email to communicate with us and check it often for updates.

Photography We reserve the right to photograph attendees for use in

promotional materials.

her consulting company (DI Associates, Inc.)

she has successfully helped many nursing

programs throughout the U.S. and Canada

improve their licensure pass rates and revise

curricula. Donna is currently working on her

9th edition of Medical-Surgical Nursing:

Patient Centered Collaborative Care. In

recognition of her contributions to nursing

education, Donna was inducted as a charter

NLN Fellow of the Academy of Nursing Education in 2007.

Workshop Description

Nursing care is rapidly changing as represented in the newest NCLEX®

test plans. This workshop will help faculty in pre-licensure PN and RN

programs develop effective test items that reflect these plans and

appropriately measures the achievement of student learning.

Participants will apply what they learn at the end of the day and are

encouraged to bring test items for revision and discussion.

At the end of this program, the learner will be able to:

Identify 4 major changes in the NCLEX-RN® and

NCLEX-PN® that impact curriculum and assessment of

learning.

Explain how to map a curriculum to the NCLEX test plan.

Describe the essential components of a test blueprint to ensure

test validity.

Revise/Develop at least one test item that measures student

learning and reflects the NCLEX® test plan.

NCLEX® Success Strategies for Students

Nursing students are invited to attend this conference in preparation

for being successful on the NCLEX® exam. These experienced nurse

educators will guide the students through the often challenging topics

of fluids & electrolytes and pharmacology. National NCLEX®

Educators will provide information on Test Taking Strategies and

students will wrap up the day with an interactive “Quiz Bowl.”

Student Learning Outcomes

At the end of this program, the student learner will be able to:

Identify test taking strategies to be successful the first time on

the NCLEX® Exam.

Apply the core concepts of fluids and electrolytes in the care of

patients.

Implement life-saving interventions in the care of the cardiac

patient.
