L.O.T.E. Kitchen Classroom

EnglishThis year we have participated in many activities that have

improved our reading, writing and speaking and listening skills.

In English we get to do lots of fun activities. I am in summer group. The other people in my group are Billee, Chyanah, Declan, Klaas and Jesse. Every

week on group gets to work with Miss. Wyatt. I have learnt what pro nouns are.

Mathematics In mathematics this year I have learnt…

In maths I have learnt lots of different things. When I was learning division I did the long way of working it out but then Miss Wyatt taught me the short way which is much quicker and easier. I have a lot fun doing maths

and I have learnt a lot of cool things.

MusicIn music I have a lot of fun. We get to learn

really cool songs and dances.For our concert we get to sing and dance to Grease lightning. I love singing and dancing

that’s why I love music.

Visual ArtIn art we get to do lots of different things. We got to

paint, use clay, draw and lots of other stuff.We learnt about lots of different artists.

When we are finished we sometimes get free time so one time Charlotte and I made a giant chatterbox.

CommunicationIn term 1 we focused on Communication. For our homework we had to make a phone, a radio or a T.V. I made a olden day phone. At school we had to do a project and we could pick a subject. Declan, Charlotte and I chose how to Communicate through I pod touches. I found out that you could Communicate in twitter on an I pod touch. It was really fun!

Are We There Yet?In term 3 the subject was Are We There Yet. Are we there yet is where you

learn a lot about Australia. I learnt some new places.

The Way Things WorkIn term 2 we focused on simple machines. On Friday the 1st of June the 3’s and 4’s had a billycart incursion. There were four

different groups so we didn’t have 1 big group. One group got to ride the billy carts another group got to draw and colour in a billy

cart another group got to put together a billy cart then take it apart and the last group got to make what ever they wanted. We

got to use screws, washers and bolts.

The different types of simple machines are, lever, screw, gear, inclined plane, pulleys and wheel and axel.

Health & Physical EducationIn P.E we do lots of different sports like tennis,

football, cricket, netball and some more. Some lessons we get a choice lesson which is when we

get to pick a warm up game and then another game that we play for the rest of the lesson. Most

of the lessons we just focus on 1 sport.

WeatherIn term 4 we learnt about weather.

I learnt more about natural disasters like a hurricane, tornado, bush fires, droughts and floods. For our E.R.P I worked with Billee,

Charlotte, Jesse and Declan

My Personal ReflectionsIn year 3 I have had the best time. My teacher is Miss Wyatt. I think Miss Wyatt is a really good teacher because when you need help she always helps you until you get the question. I have a lot of fun times in class like Hollywood

magic was really fun because we made our own movie.

Holly wood MagicIn Holly wood magic we got to make our own TV show. Our TV show was about the news. I had the part of a reporter of the Los Angeles bush fires and I was

dancing to happy little vegemite.

Learning By DoingLearning by doing is when we built cranes. It was really fun because we got

to use saws. We had to have partners. My partner was Charlotte. At the end we could use our cranes to pick light things up.

Kitchen ClassroomIn kitchen classroom we make lots of yummy things.

After we make whatever we were making we get to eat it but when it is market day we don’t. Sometimes if

something takes a long time to cook we use the food the grade before us cooked.
