Course TITLE: Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Instructor: Anyarat Nattheeraphong Title/Position : Lecturer Institution : Mahasarakham University Course Overview: This course is designed to help you gain experience and confidence within an academic and a professional environment. It offers a foundation in theories, approaches and methods for the teaching of English as a foreign language from the perspectives of second language acquisition research. This course begins by encouraging students to reflect on their English language learning experiences and to discuss their experiences with the instructor and classmates. We will then review the basic concepts pertaining to the field of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and focus on how to use research and experience to inform teaching practice and materials design. The main goal of this course is also to prepare students for their future teaching career by familiarizing them with relevant theories, approaches and methods through extensive reading, discussions, project work and teaching practice. . Grading: Class attendance and participation 10% Reflection Paper 20% Teaching Demonstration (Lesson Plan & Teaching) 40% Quizzes 30%
