COURSE ASSESSMENTS: Class Contribution (Individual)

1) Class Participation: There will be online live classes at times agreed upon by the majority of students registered in the course. Students are expected to attend all scheduled live online classes and at least two online training sessions delivered by students. There will also be online participation activities posted on Moodle that will require individual participation.

2) Online Quizzes: Every week, there will be a 10-20 question quiz posted on Moodle to test on the concepts of the weekly readings. The quiz questions will be multiple choice, true/false, matching and short anser. The quizzes are “open-book” and will be completed individually online. The time limit to complete each quiz is will be 1 minute per question on the quiz (2 minutes for short-answer). Once you launch the quiz, it must be completed – you cannot return to it later. Please use a wired internet connection while completing quizzes to avoid any internet interruptions.

Online Training Session Assignment Groups of seven (7) students will be formed by the second week. Each group will choose a topic of their choice that is relevant to the class and prepare a 30-minute online class training session. All students in the group must participate in designing and delivering the training. The presentation slides and other materials will be submitted online prior to the facilitation date. More details will be provided on Moodle. Case Analysis (Individual) Students will work individually on analysis questions accompanying a case provided by the instructor on Moodle. Each student must submit a typed analysis to Moodle answering all case questions and following all formatting guidelines. Self & Peer Evaluations for Group Work For group work, a single grade will be given to the group. However, some team members may not receive the same grade as others if the instructor determines that not everyone contributed equally. If your group is not functioning effectively and professionally, it is your responsibility to bring this to the attention of the instructor as soon as possible. You will formally rate yourself and team members at the end of the semester. The feedback from this peer review form may be used by the instructor to adjust the individual’s grade relative to the group, if required. A copy of the peer evaluation form, along with further instructions, is posted on the course website.
