Costumes for CURE is committed to ensuring that breast cancer patientsdo not have to face the double burden of a health and a financial crisis.

One year of breast cancer treatment results in a minimum of $19,000 in financial losses because of work interruptions and additional health related expenses

Employment Insurance covers 15 weeks of compensation, but physicians may recommend a full year off work

Breast cancer treatment time may vary from a minimum of 26 weeks to 1 year

Average household income for families impacted by breast cancer decreases by 10%

In a survey of breast cancer patients, 16% had their jobs terminated while undergoing treatment, 27% took on debt and 44% had to use savings to cover treatment costs
