Suzuki Samurai Sport Cage, Front Kit by Low Range Off-Road

This is Low Range Off Road's own Sport Cage design. We manufacture these cages in-house here in Utah, USA using DOM Steel. DOM is seamless tubing used to make roll cages, buggy chassis and drag racing chassis. It is harder to crush and much less likely to break or bend in areas where you need extra strength. Homemade Samurai cages with the tubing running between the dash and

the door often interfere with proper door closure. Low Range’s unique design solves this problem by using laser cut plate steel in this area. We also include laser cut plate steel removable speaker grills, to accommodate speaker installation and provide speaker protection.

Low Range Off Road is proud to release it's Defiant Armor Gas Tank Skid Plate for the 1995-2004 Toyota Tacoma EX-Cab and Double Cab Models. The Single Cab

model is coming soon. This skid plate is formed from solid steel, CNC Laser Cut and CNC Press bent for amazing accuracy.   Then it is welded in-house by our skilled craftsmen.

Project: 1986-88 Suzuki SamuraiOwner: Tyler Hulse

This$1986$)$1988$Samurai$Tin$Top$is$the$“evolutionary”$project$of$Tyler$Hulse.$ $He$originally$ purchased$ this$ red$ Samurai$from$ an$ individual$ in$ California$ back$ in$2008.$ $He$ put$a$1.6L$8)valve$ engine$ in$ it$and$used$ it$as$his$ daily$driver.$ $ In$ 2009,$due$to$a$job$loss,$Tyler$had$to$sell$it.$$Then$in$2011$he$ got$ it$back$again$by$ trading$a$motorcycle$ for$ it,$ but$ now$ it$ is$ black.$$Tyler$ “threw”$ in$ a$ coil$ spring$ front$suspension$and$drove$ it$ for$about$a$ year.$$Then$ he$ got$ real$ ambitious,$ put$ a$ 1988$frame$ under$ it$ and$ did$ a$ custom$ 2”$spring)under$ Old$ Man$ Emu$ Lift$ with$ the$rear)up)front$ configuration.$ $ It$ is$a$ little$tight,$ but$he$ was$able$ to$ fit$ a$ set$ of$ 31”$Maxxis$Trepador$tires$under$it.

Tyler$ put$ in$ a$ 1.6L$ 16$ Valve$ Sidekick$engine$ and$ a$ freshly$ built$ 5$ speed$transmission.$ $The$transfer$case$has$4:16$gears$and$is$supported$by$our$Low$Range$Off)Road$ EOS$ T)Case$ Cradle.$ $ It$ has$ an$ARB$ Air$ Locker$ in$ the$ rear$ with$ LROR$Siverback$HD$axle$shafts.$$$There$are$plans$for$the$front$axle$soon.

The$brake$ system$ has$been$ enhanced$ by$installing$ Samurai$disc$brakes$in$ the$ rear$and$Sidekick$calipers$in$the$front.$$It$has$a$Subaru$ 1)1/16”$ bore$ master$ cylinder$which$further$improves$the$braking.

The$ steering$ has$ been$ enhanced$ as$well$with$ a$ Sidekick$ Power$ Steering$ System$and$a$ TC$power$steering$ pump.$ $Tyler$is$really$ glad$ to$ get$ his$ “Sammy”$ Tin$ Top$back$again.
