Dear Student,

At the outset the management, faculty and staff of Christ

Institute of Management would like to congratulate you on

your graduation! Graduates from Christ Institute of

Management, will gather on Saturday, 3 June 2017 at Open

Auditorium, CIM for convocation.

I am sure that you are eager to know more about your

graduation and programmes followed thereafter so that you

can make plans and complete the requirements. This guide

provides information about academic attire, reporting time,

venue for reporting, procession timing, guest passes,

photography facility by professional photographers and other

guidelines to be followed during the convocation ceremony.

CONVOCATION ROBES

DRESS CODE

Distribution of robes is only between 2:30 PM to

3:00 PM from the respective rooms.

Kindly collect your robes within the stipulated

time to join the procession and receive the

graduation certificates on stage.

Students will have to sign and acknowledge the

receipt of robes.

Students are strictly not permitted to go outside

the campus after collecting their robes. Robes

are to be returned immediately after the

convocation in rooms allotted.

Boys: Formal clothes (white shirt full sleeve with a tie and black trousers)

Girls:Saree (white/off white with white blouse - avoid strong colour borders and bling)

Students are to report back to the allotted rooms by 4:00 PM for the final

attendance and to be ready for procession.

Students are to line up for the procession outside Administrative block by

4:15 PM.

Procession will start at 4:30 PM and will be led by the Class Teacher with a

class representative carrying the placard.

During the procession students are to wear the Robes and Hoods

compulsorily.

Throwing your Hoods during the procession is strictly prohibited. Students

are to maintain complete silence during the procession.

When the procession of dignitaries led by the Head of Academics holding

the National Flag and the Controller of Examinations holding Christ Institute

of Management Flag enter the Open Auditorium, CIM Anthem will be

played. During this time students and guests are expected to stand.

PROCESSION

GUEST PASSES

Entry into the Auditorium (Guests) is allowed only with the passes.

Students who registered for passes online will receive it via e-mail.

Guests are expected to be inside the Auditorium by 4: 15 PM. Availability of

seats is on first come - first served basis.

Student dinner coupons will be distributed to graduating students during

the distribution of Robes in the allotted classes

RECEIVING THE CONVOCATION FOLDER

Students will receive the Convocation folder from the Chairman in the same

order of their seating in the Auditorium.

As soon as the names are called, students are to use the podium side stairs to

get on to the stage and leave the stage using the left side stairs.

Students should remember to greet the Chairman, Chief Guest and Director

soon after receiving the graduation folder. Professional photographers will

be taking photographs of all the students receiving convocation folder

inside the auditorium. Hence taking photos privately during the function will

not be permitted.
