GENERAL INFORMATION Coconino Community College was founded in 1992 and spans 18,000 square miles of northern Arizona with campuses in Flagstaff, Page and Williams, and extension sites at the Grand Canyon, Fredonia and Tuba City. The college reaches some of the most remote stretches of Arizona with online services including three online degrees and two certificates. The college, with more than 350 full-time and part-time employees, offers more than 60 degrees and certificates and serves nearly 8,000 students each year.

Campus Closure Due to Inclement Weather Students should check the college website or call 928-527-1222 to confirm campus closure due to weather or emergency. Additionally, classes held at other facilities such as Northern Arizona University or a Flagstaff Unified School District campus are subject to closure decisions based on the location.

Transportation to the Flagstaff Lone Tree and Fourth Street Campuses The Mountain Line Flagstaff Public Transit System has stops at both the Flagstaff Lone Tree and Fourth Street Campuses. In addition, there is a route which runs between NAU and the Lone Tree Campus which could serve students who are co-enrolled at both institutions. Registration for Courses

To Register Online: Access Web4 Students can register online through the Web4 online student information system. Students can register in person at the Lone Tree, 4th Street, and Page campuses. Students are encouraged to register early in the semester to maximize choices and schedule.

Tuition and fees can be paid online or at the Cashier at the Flagstaff Lone Tree Campus, and the registration desks at the Flagstaff Fourth Street campus and Page registration desk.

STUDENT TECHNOLOGY

COMET ID CCC utilizes an authentication method referred to as Comet ID. With Comet ID, you are able login to any service at the college including computers, email, Vista online classes and Web4 using a single username and password.

To get started using Comet ID:

Email Account All students are provided with a Coconino Community College student email. This email account will be used for all official college correspondence. Students are encouraged to check email periodically to ensure they have not missed announcements on important dates or deadlines. You can forward your student email to a personal account if you prefer to receive mail at one account.

1. Use the windows live login. 2. Use your student email address (which you can find in Web4 under Personal

Web4 Online Student Information

Web4 is an online student information system. Students can use Web4 for a variety of services including access to information on their Financial Aid status, view Academic Records, register for classes, request transcripts, update contact information and pay their tuition. To access the Web4 system visit: www.coconino.edu/prod or click on the icon on the CCC homepage.

Log in using your COMET ID number and pin (if this is your first time using this system your pin is defaulted to your birth date MMDDYY). If you are having pin troubles and need it reset contact the help desk at 928-226-4357.

Distance Learning

Many courses are offered online and some courses are offered as a hybrid which means some of the course is online and some time is spent in the classroom. Visit the website listed above for tutorials, technical support, and information on getting started on your online course.

ITV Courses Some courses are offered through Interactive Television. This means that your instructor and classmates may be at other college campuses and instruction occurs using video and microphone technology. If you are at an “originating” site, the instructor will be in your classroom. If you run into technical difficulties with your ITV course contact the Help Desk at 928-226-4357 or your site coordinator.

Academic Advising is coordinated through the Student Support Services Office at the Flagstaff Lone Tree Campus. Students can come in for walk-in advising, participate in on- line advising or schedule an appointment with an advisor.

Students can also meet with a Faculty Advisor. Students who have declared a major can schedule an advising appointment with a faculty member within your degree or certificate program by contacting your faculty directly.

Students taking courses at the Page Campus should contact the Student Services Coordinator for advising or utilize distance advising services coordinated through the Lone Tree Campus.

Students taking courses at extension sites should call Student Support Services for assistance or contact the E-Advisor.

Parking

(928)226-4304 Students taking courses at the Flagstaff Lone Tree and Flagstaff Fourth Street campuses are required to purchase a parking permit. Permits can be purchased from the Security Office at the Lone Tree campus and at the Fourth Street campus registration counter.

You may notice blue lights in the parking lots at the Lone Tree and Williams campuses. The blue lights (currently on the Lone Tree and Williams campuses only) are an added measure of security for students and employees. There is a call button on the pole which will contact security in case of an emergency. If security is not does not answer after a couple rings, the call will go directly to the police dispatcher. On the Lone Tree campus, there are also cameras on top of them.

The college has security desks at the Flagstaff Lone Tree and Fourth Street campuses. If you are taking classes at an extension sites contact site coordinators for immediate concerns or in case of emergency contact 911. In addition, Security has identified a number of persons as Campus Security Authorities. This list includes Security and local law enforcement agencies as well as Deans, Advisors, Department Chairpersons and others. If you do not know how to reach any of these persons, contact any employee to a referral to one.

Some of the services provided by the Campus Security Office include: security escorts to reach transportation upon request, report out annual crime statistics per Clery Act, lost and found, parking permits, and handling tickets for parking or other violations.
