Music teacher• The students find musical composition relevant

because of their interest in popular music. The fact that there is an electronic keyboard connected to a computer on which to compose only heightens their interest.

• Relevance can emerge through teacher mediation.

• Teachers can add elements to the learning situation that make the activity relevant to the students.

• Be aware that students' points of view are windows into their reasoning.

• Adapt curriculum to address students' suppositions and development.

6. Instruct the students to write about their presentations when they finish the assignment.Have them tell you what they learned about music and why they made the presentation the way they did. This gives you an idea of what they understand about the music and it gives them the opportunity to reflect on their experience.

7. Arrange for a intra class musical event that showcases the best piece from each student.

Then shift gradually to interclass & inter house competition.

Students love recognition for their work, and parents and principals love the work done by them.

“Constructivism proposes that

learning environments should

support multiple perspectives or

interpretations of reality, knowledge

construction, and context-rich,

experience-based activities.”– David H. Jonassen
