    This!is!a!simple,!straightforward!guide!to!configuring!your!Dolby!Conference!Phone!for!use!with!Avaya!Aura!Platform!6.*.!!

    This!guide!presumes!an!enterprise!network!environment.!!

    Avaya Aura Platform requirements

    This!document!provides!instructions!for!an!Avaya!Aura!Platform!6.3!environment.!When!instructions!differ!in!Avaya!Aura!6.1!and!6.2!environments,!they!are!noted.!!

    Note:!!The$Avaya$Aura$Platform$(especially)the)Avaya#G350#media#gateway)#does#not#support'G.722'audio'codec.'Therefore,(Dolby&Conference&Phones&on#the!Avaya%Aura%Platform%cannot%be%configured%to%only%use%this%audio%codec.%For%more%information,*see*the$Dolby&Conference&Phone&Administrators&Guide.!

    Prerequisites

    You!will!need!the!following!information!in!order!to!configure!the!phone.!Take!a!look!at!what!is!required!and!have!that!information!available!before!you!start.!Read!the!appropriate!Avaya!Aura!Platform!documentation!for!information!on!specific!network!requirements.!

    Note:! Your%local%System%Administrator%or%IT%expert%can%provide%these%details.!

    Manual deployment overview

    A!knowledgeable!Avaya!Aura!administrator!should!perform!manual!deployment!and!configuration!of!the!Avaya!Aura!Platform.!The!steps!listed!below!are!provided!as!a!reference!point!only.!For!Avaya!documentation,!go!to!http://support.avaya.com.!!1. Synchronize!the!Avaya!Aura!Communications!Manager!and!Session!Manager.!2. In!the!Avaya!Aura!System!Manager,!create!a!new!SIP!phone!extension/account:!

    a. Add!an!SIP!user!for!each!Dolby!Conference!Phone.!b. Assign!a!communications!profile!to!each!user.!c. Assign!a!session!manager!profile!to!each!user.!

    When!completed,!you!can!change!the!phone!configuration!file!that!you!created!to!use!the!Avaya!Aura!Platform!as!the!IP!PBX!server.!!

    Note:! The$following$procedure$uses$the$web$user$interface.!

    1. Log!in!the!web!user!interface!with!the!device!IP!address!(for!example,!https://a.b.c).!

    2. Enter!the!default!credentials:! Username!=!admin! Password!=!1739!

    3. Select!Settings!>!IP!PBX!Settings!>!Account.!!

    Troubleshooting

    Check!the!following!table!for!solutions!to!any!issues!you!have!with!integrating!the!Dolby!Conference!Phone!with!the!Avaya!Aura!Platform.!

    Troubleshooting Issues with Avaya Aura Platform and Dolby Conference Phone

    Issue Solution/Workaround

    Unable!to!register!the!phone!with!Avaya!Aura!Session!Manager!

    Ensure!the!details!of!SM!100,!extension,!and!communication!profile!password!are!entered!accurately!to!register!with!Session!Manager.!!

    On!the!phone,!you!can!tap! !>! !and!then!Status!>!Network!>!Call!Server!to!verify!that!the!configuration!process!completed.!!You!can!also!verify!the!realm!configuration!on!the!phone.!Make!sure!it!is!set!to!*!unless!you!are!sure!about!the!correct!value!for!your!system.!

    Dolby!Conference!Phone!is!registered,!but!unable!to!call!other!devices!on!the!network!

    Check!the!SIP!routing!group!configured!on!the!phone!from!the!Avaya!Aura!System!Manager!Web!UI!or!use!Avaya!ASA!to!check!the!individual!station!details!and!ensure!the!phones!are!using!the!same!routing!group.!!Also!check!the!following:!!1.!That!the!SIP!routing!group!that!phone!is!assigned!to!in!the!Session!Manager!(through!Avaya!Aura!System!Manager)!can!route!the!call!to!the!destination!routing!group.!Make!sure!(possibly!though!Session!Manager!logs)!that!the!call!is!being!routed!correctly!to!the!destination!endpoint.!The!Session!Manager!traces!indicate!the!SIP!specific!error!response,!which!can!assist!in!further!troubleshooting.!!2.!If!a!Session!Manager!capture!indicates!that!the!Session!Manager!is!able!to!route!the!call!to!the!Communication!Manager!but!does!not!get!back!any!response!from!it,!check!the!Communication!Manager!traces.!

    Dolby!Conference!Phone!is!registered!and!makes!a!call.!The!terminating!phone!rings,!but!the!call!is!disconnected!immediately!after!the!call!is!answered.!

    Check!the!codec!configuration!on!both!ends!and!verify!that!both!endpoints!are!configured!to!use!at!least!one!compatible!codec.!

    !DCP!failed!to!dial!the!PSTN!number! Check!the!codecs!configured!on!the!phone.!Sometimes!limited!codecs!are!selected!on!phone,!which!are!not!compatible!with!codec!selected!on!Gateway.!Select!the!appropriate!gateway!codec!on!the!phone!to!make!the!PSTN!calls.!!Note:!Make!sure!Avaya!and!the!Gateway!are!set!up!to!accept!711!and!ilbc.!
