Course Description

The UC Irvine Stroke & Cerebrovascular Center Symposium offers an update on the latest advances in the management of stroke care and surgical and endovascular intervention, prevention and rehabilitation. Improving stroke patient outcomes requires a multifaceted approach that includes pre-hospital, acute and rehabilitation care, as well as reintegration into the community. This conference is designed to improve the knowledge and performance of healthcare providers for patients with stroke and cerebrovascular disease.

Target Audience

Neurologists, neurosurgeons, neurointerventionalists, neuroradiologists, interventional radiologists, emergency medicine specialists, primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, rehabilitation specialists, physical, occupational and speech therapists, respiratory therapists, radiology technologists, case managers, social workers, pharmacists, and researchers in the field of cerebrovascular function and disease.

Learning Objectives

• Summarize new advances in acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage and cerebral aneurysms.
