INTRODUCTION DEUTZ DIESELPOWER was formed in 1981 to handle the South African manufacture and marketing of DEUTZ Diesel Engines. At that time, apart from ADE (Atlantis Diesel Engines), it was the only diesel engine supplier to be granted a Government-approved manufacturing programme for industrial and tractor diesel engines in South Africa.

Being positioned in the private sector, DEUTZ DIESELPOWER subscribes to the principle of free enterprise and open competition and is able to offer its products and services in the most competitive and efficient manner for the long-term benefit of its wide spectrum of customers. In 1982, a consortium led by the then, Managing Director of Hudaco Industries (Pty) Ltd (H.I.L.) acquired the entire shareholding of H.I.L. from the Blue Circle group with KHD (DEUTZ AG) retaining its 30% interest in DEUTZ DIESELPOWER, confirming its commitment to DEUTZ in South Africa and Key Anglophone African countries. In 1996 KHD changed its name to DEUTZ AG, exactly as it was 100 years ago. In 1999 the Pietermaritz-burg factory closed down and from this point on all our engines where imported as fully assembled units from DEUTZ AG’s EU production plants. DEUTZ DIESELPOWER is currently the sole authorised distributor of genuine DEUTZ products and services in South Africa and certain key Anglophone African countries. Products include: New Air, Liquid Cooled DEUTZ engines, DEUTZ Service Exchange engines (German and Local), DEUTZ local generator sets & loose engines, genuine new DEUTZ parts and DEUTZ services (Field Service and Full Workshops). DEUTZ DIESELPOWER has a fully integrated, dedicated technical training facility. Has unconditional sup-port and assistance from our principals DEUTZ AG, and their worldwide service network, represented in over 130 countries.
