HOUSING FEATURES series CF

During the design of the housing, our primary goal was to create a product capable ofsatisfying the most severe applications for petrochemical, chemical, refinery, oil &gas, power generation and water treatment. Particular attention was paid in thechoice of the material that the type of treatment, obtaining a high level of protectionagainst aggressive environments present in these areas.All enclosures GLOBTOP® CF Series are aluminum alloy with a very low copper

content (≤ 0.1%) with special treatment of chromate and polyester powder coating,ensuring excellent protection to corrosion and environmental. For applications indemanding environments, such as very low temperatures and / or highly corrosive, thehousings are also available in stainless steel 316L with final treatment ofelectropolishing.

EXPLOSION PROOF EXd, Exia CERTIFICATION AND PROTECTION LEVEL

The GLOBTOP® housings series CF are available in the ATEX version with theequipment certification CE, Ex II2 GD with method of protection:

Exd/Exia IIC T6,T5,T4 and Ex tb IIIC T85/T100/T135°C for ambient operatingtemperature from - 60°C to a maximum of + 100°C.

The above-mentioned housings can also be used in plants classified as: GROUP II(surface plants) zone 1 / zone 21 (with redundancy ), zone 2 / zone 22.The degree of protection IP66/67/67M makes the housing totally protected againstdust, water jets and waves, with operation for 30’ at 1m depth.

There are also certifications IECEx and GOST EAC (TR CU)

OPERATIONS AND ADJUSTMENTS

Particular attention was given to reducing maintenance time and calibration of theenclosures GLOBTOP ®, through the following points:1) screw covers devoid of tightening screws and without the need of removal of thevisual three-dimensional position.2) Innovative and exclusive multi-line block for implementation of the sensors.Manually by exerting a simple pressure the vanes of implementationinserted in sectors multi-line (adjustable step 2 °), the calibration of theproximity sensors is obtained, with rapidity and precision. The block ofthe internal implementation of is predisposed, with the addition of athird sensor and the vane, to the control of the intermediate positionof the valve (partial stroke) with different test range. The calibrationof the microswitches lever is obtained using the adjustment oftraditional multi-line cam.3) Terminal blocks for wiring without obstacles - Compartment to house wiringcables

POSITION VISUAL DISPLAY

The GLOBTOP ® housings series CF model CFIA, CFXA, CFIB and CFXB are equippedwith a three-dimensional visual indicator made of Makrolon® polycarbonate, anti-shock and UV rays resistant. Through the special fasteners supplied the dome isadjustable at any position engaging the valve / actuator.

The supplied configurations are the following:

Red/Green with Open/Closed writing for 90° rotations of the valve/actuator(standard).

Yellow/Black with Open/Closed writing for 90° rotations of the valve/actuator.(option)

Yellow with graduated reference marks and Closed writing. Open writing applicablefrom 25° to 135° of the rotation of the valve/actuator.

For special applications are also available with the following configurations:

Visual position indicator with metallic arrow.

Visual indicator with rigid or flexible extended drive (adjustable withdifferent positions and lengths) suitable for FIREPROOF covers of actuators/valves

and vision to long distance.(see the Accessories chapter)

STANDARD SENSORS FOR CF series HOUSING

The only HYBRID MAGNETIC proximity sensor unpowered switching ofmechanical contact (no reed) devoid of internal mechanical spring (high increase inmechanical life). SPDT or DPDT contacts of type dry and snap action for low andhigh power switching. Sensitive to feedback position ferrous or magnetic.

The Magnetic hybrid GO switch sensor being, suitable for every application, make GLOBTOP ®

particularly reliable, precise and long lasting in any application, virtually eliminating ofmaintenance needs. Available with SIL certificate.

MICRO SWITCHES with leverThe economic version mechanical limit switches are available for high levels ofcurrent/tension and for interfacing with PLC (gold plated mechanical SPDT contacts).Other options are available in sealed version, hermetic and with mechanical contactsDPDT. A version with SIL certificate is available.

INDUCTIVES SENSORA wide variety of models with two or three wires, NPN, PNP, NAMUR is available alsoon request. (For operation requires specific external power adapter). Various modelswith SIL certificate.

JETREED ® - MAGNETIC proximity sensor with reed contact not powered for

low and medium switching power; sensitive to magnetic actuators only. SPDT contact.The quality/price/reliability features of these sensors are in between the GO Switch andthe above described mechanical lever micro switches. Various models with SILcertificate.

On request, we make customizations of the GLOBTOP ® series PF housing withvarious types of sensors according to requirements and/or SIL certificate.

Material: aluminium alloy copper free (copper ≤ 0.1%) or 316L SST (mod. CFC & CFX not included)

The term "Copper Free" is used to describe aluminum alloys that contain less than 0,4% copper.The copper content in our housing is ≤ 0.1% and this very low content of copper increases the strength properties of the natural corrosion ofaluminum in the presence of saline atmosphere, sulfur gases and ammonium nitrate. Aluminum alloys with a level not higher than 0.1%copper, is also required and/or recommended for installation in tropical environment warm (40°C) - humid (90%). Attention: in thepresence of copper increased to 0.4% (NO copper free), galvanic corrosion due to the action within the structure of the metal increases rapidly

Casting method: die-cast for aluminium housing and investment casting for SST housing.

Superficial treatment:

Aluminium alloy housings : Chromate, specific for anticorrosion. Treatment in accordance with militarynorms MIL-DTL-5541F or a and MIL-C5541E for class 1A.

This treatment well as guaranteeing an excellent anchorage for the paint, generates an amorphous film that forms excellent protection onmanufactures of aluminum alloy not painted with effect "self-healing" in the housing where the film is superficially damaged or scratched.The corrosion resistance in salt spray test, is much higher than the normal passivation treatments

316L SS housings: solution heat-treatment, sand blasting, electro-polishing and passivation.

these treatments allow to remove any superficial oxide residual possibly present on the housings during casting and machining, regenerateand improve the stainless original features of the product, thus increasing the life cycle in corrosive environments without the need ofprotective paints. Excellent results obtained in corrosion tests in saline fog environments.

HOUSING INSTALLATION AND CALIBRATION DOME

Couple the GLOBTOP ® housing shaft to the actuator pinion, using the appropriate supports. Verifying that the redcolour with the word “closed” on the housing corresponds to the closed position of the actuator, and also that thegreen colour with the word “open” on the housing corresponds to the open position of the actuator.

If the DOME positions do not match, use the following steps for the SETTING

- Ensure that the cover is securely closed.- Unscrew all screws ”A” that hold in place the dome.- Turn the transparent/black dome 90 degrees.- Screw all screws “A” that hold in place the dome making sure the correct coupling of the little cogs.

For eventual necessity to REPLACE the DOME use the following steps:

- Unscrew all screws “A” that hold in place the dome.- Remove the dome- Insert the new dome in the round seat of the housing: before doing this, verify the integrity and the proper

positioning of the gasket on the bottom of the seat of the dome (fig.2)- Screw all screws “A” that hold in place the dome making sure the correct coupling of the little cogs.

PROXIMITY SENSORS CALIBRATION

Thanks to the innovative and exclusive multi-line block for implementation, all proximity sensors mounted into the

GLOBTOP ®, can be calibrated with extreme rapidity and precision housings. The sensors are supplied with a pre-calibration considering the counter – clockwise opening of the valve/actuator and a rotation of 90°; the only operationrequired is therefore a precision calibration, if needed, in order to optimise the sensor response.

1) Position the actuator pinion in the closed position and verify that the vane is positioned above the desiredsensor adversely, extract the calibrating block (fig. 3) turn it 90° degrees and insert it in the requiredposition.

2) Push the regulating vane of the sensor you are calibrating and turn until the sensor is activated (fig.4)then release. The vane can be regulated in 2 degree steps for a maximum of +/– 10 degrees, the referencemarks on the cover correspond to 4 degrees of regulation

3) Position the actuator pinion in the open position and repeat as for point 2) and

LEVER LIMIT MICRO SWITCH CALIBRATION

For the calibration of lever limit switches, position the actuator pinion in the closed position and calibrate the camsuntil the relative micro switch is activated. After position the actuator pinion in the open position and calibrate thecams until the relative micro switch is activated.
