Welcome Back!Students I hope you had a restful Spring Break.

Open Enrollment:On Monday, April 16, 2012 is the last day for schools to secure their enrollment for the Fall 2012-2013 School Year with Detroit Public Schools. Students received a School Selection Scan Sheet the week of April 2, 2012; students were directed to return the Scan Sheet ASAP. Any student that does not return the form will automatically be assigned to CMA for school year 2012-2013.

Parent Teacher Conference/Report Card Distribution:On Friday, April 20, 2012, CMA will be hosting Parent Teacher Conferences during the hours of 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. School will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m. Report Cards will be distributed during Parent Teacher Conference. Students that do not receive their Report Cards during Parent Teacher Conference will receive them on Monday, April 23, 2012 during their 6th hr. class.

RIP The Run Way/Relaxed Dress:On Friday, April 20, 2012 hours 2-3, CMA will host our 2nd Annual RIP the Run Way Fashion Show. Relaxed Dress tickets are $2.00 and RIP the Run Way tickets are $3.00 for General Admissions and $5.00 for VIP ticket which includes priority seating and refreshments before the performance. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 17, 2012.

LSCO Meeting/Parent Workshop:On Wednesday, April 18, 2012 our monthly LSCO Meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Library. Parents enter through the Parking Lot door off of St. Marys. This meeting will focus on several academic initiatives also our Title One Workshop Getting Your Child College Ready. Parents please plan on attending.

Media Mash-up – Free workshops for high school sophomores, juniors & seniors, featuring Disney Animator Gary Schwartz & Fox 2 reporter Roop Raj at Lawrence Technological University – Saturday April 21, 2012.

College visit - Saginaw Valley State University Campus tour – Tues., April 17 from 7:30 – 3:30 p.m. Seniors who have been admitted to Saginaw Valley and sophomores and juniors with an overall GPA of 3.0 and above were invited to attend this college visit.

Reminder Seniors – Every Senior must submit an OCLEX (Green Card) verifying 200 work hours and 1 college acceptance letter or you will not be eligible to graduate. These documents are due by Monday, April 23, 2012.

-Scholarships – Seniors continue to check the CMA website Counselor page/Scholarship link for new scholarship opportunities.

-Scholarships & Financial Aid Awards – Seniors remember to submit a copy of any TIP award letters, scholarships and/or financial aid awards you receive from any institution or organization. This information will be used to compile CMA’s annual scholarship report and to honor you at the Baccalaureate Program on June 4.

Wednesday April 18 & Thursday April 19 - Senior English Classes will have a presentation on Prom Night Safety from a DMC Trauma Nurse.
