Common Application for Freshman Undergraduate Admissions

This application form is the correct one to use if you want to enroll in the 2012 academic year as a freshman. If you are applying for any other year, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Applications for transfer, re-admit, and cross-campus transfer students can be found online at www.admissions.umich.edu.

The University of Michigan uses The Common Application exclusively. In order to be considered for freshman admission, the following items are required:

You can check your status online once we have received your application by creating a friend account at http://wolverineaccess.umich.edu; however, keep in mind that it does take at least 2 weeks to process your application and other supporting documents. Athletic Training, Physical Education, and Sport Management programs require a secondary admission application prior to your sophomore or junior year. Preferred admission to Ross School of Business is an option for fall term freshman applicants to Sport Management only. The Residential College (RC) is a four-year liberal arts program within LSA, featuring small classes, close contact with faculty and staff, highly regarded foreign language training, and a cross-disciplinary curriculum. RC students enjoy the best of both worlds: they pursue academic study in a wide range of LSA programs and departments, while remaining grounded in a close-knit learning community in East Quadrangle on central campus. The admissions requirements, application procedures and deadlines for RC are the same as LSA. RC students can pursue a dual degree with the School of Art & Design.
