EIP: ENDANGERED INSTRUMENTS PROGRAM for Bassoon, French Horn,

Trombone & Double Bass The VYOA’s “Endangered Instruments Program” is a subsidized private lesson program encouraging students to play those instruments that are typically difficult to recruit for the orchestras. EIP is open to students who have never played these instruments before or to VYOA students interested in moving to one of these instruments.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTMUSIC INSPIRES Music Inspires is the VYOA’s

community engagement program that is committed to eliminating access barriers to students from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Partnerships with area 21C funded after-school programs is at the

very heart of the program. Music Inspires provides group lessons, coachings,

instruments, school-day performances, and materials at no cost to students and their families or their schools.

SCHOOL TOURS Annual school tours are a core component of the VYOA experience. Every year, our students travel and perform school-day

concerts for nearly 3,000 students in our region, sharing the joy and sense

of accomplishment that comes from playing classical music together.
