    In a two-mile advance to the east of SARRIDtm4INES (Q55), WOELFLING(Q55) and WIESVILLER (Q55) fe l l to the 328th Infantry (26th Infantry Dividon) in the XII Corps zone. Heavy fighting continued in GRas REDERCHUG (Q65) following a drive of the I04th Infantry (26th Infantry Divieion) into that town. The 6th Armored Division and BOth Infantry Division continued regrouping while the 4th Armored Division commenced ref i t t ing. Foot elements of the 134th and 320th Infantry Regiments (35thInfant17 D1vision) finished crossing the SAAR Rivar and while twobridges were cOllpleted a t SAAREINSMING (Q55) and IfITTRING (Q55), heavyfighting continued in the vicini ty of SARREGOEMlNES (Q55).

    The 6th Cavalry Group (IX Corps) maintained positions on the southflank following i t s re l ief of the 5th Infantry Division which had re t ired to an assembly area north ot ST AVOLD (Q25).
