It is estimated that at least 15 semester hours will be transferred in from AP credit post secondary options, or some other form of transfer work in the areas of general education and/or selected courses in the major.
General education courses may be taken at any time. The recommendations above are just a sample of how the 3 year program could work for this particular major.
Students will need to select courses that simultaneously fulfill Tier II general education courses and the Arts & Sciences distribution ares of the BA degree. For example, TII SS/A&S SS on the sample chart above indicates that 1 course (such as African American Studies AAS 2020) will fulfill both the Tier II Social Sciences and the Arts & Sciences categories. A comparison chart of these “double duty” courses is available on the College of Fine Arts website.
General education and elective courses should be taken at the 2000 level or above when applicable.
It is imperative to work closely with an academic advisor in the major to successfully complete this 3 year degree program.
