Introducing Collective

Collective is a new venture in the heart of Camden created to fuse together the worlds of creative art and business

under one roof.

On one side, there is a bold new office conversion, on the other a double height Victorian warehouse space which hasbeen converted into gallery space measuring (5x 23 5m) with outside space of (7 x 11.45m) with access to Camden High

Street.

 

  

What can I do in it?

Anything! Whilst we enjoy and encourage high quality wall hung shows including silkscreen, canvas and photography

shows, we are particularly interested in showcasing the non  gallery nature of the space by encouraging interesting

innovative and controversial installations that use the full extent of the space

We invite artists and curators to respond to the unique nature of the building. All we ask is that the exhibition space is

returned to its original condition afterwards and you observe the needs of our residential neighbours for sleep!

 

How can I secure this space?

We are looking at developing a new creative collective with links to north London through this space. For the best shows

we dont charge a fee or take commission for any work sold in this prime central London space. However you do have to

demonstrate the PR value and the quality of the show in order to receive this offer. 

 

Why are you doing this?We are Camden Town Unlimited, the Business Improvement District for Camden Town and one of our aims is to

encourage new and exciting shows back to this area. We turn old redundant spaces around by using them as places to

showcase the best creativity in London, and internationally, in a location renowned for being a major hub for creative

industries.

 

How can I use it?

You can use it during gallery hours - generally between 10-6pm and you need to have at least one private view per 2

weeks. It just needs to have one designated supervisor on site, responsible for opening/locking up at all times and we

ask that there is no noise after 11pm. It must also comply with all health and safety/noise/decency regulations.

 

What are the restrictions?

1. There is no reserved parking access or vehicular access from Camden High Street. (Items have to be transported

approximately 20 meters by foot)..

2. We do not have an exhibition content criteria, preferring to leave creative control in the hands of those who

know better to  encourage shows that are passionate and exciting.  However we do not support shows that

violate decency laws, incite racism or homophobia or break the law in any other way.

We will assess the application, arrange a date for you to see the space and then take it from there!

 

What is the corporate hire rate?

The corporate hire rate is £500 per day.  This is a dry hire venue and you willhave to provide management, security,

catering and invigilators for the space for the entirety of your show. You will also have to provide public liability and

contents insurance for your art.
