WELCOME TO COLLABORATE 12Technology and Applications Forum for the Oracle Community in the always-exciting city of Las Vegas! Anticipation for COLLABORATE has been building for months–we thank you for choosing to be here and hope you’re ready to jump into an exhilarating week of education, events and networking.

In a time of rapid change, participation and membership in users communities

is vital to remaining informed and connected to those resources which can

advance your organization’s goals. With our three communities together

under one roof, COLLABORATE is a large event – and growing. All of us have

personal experiences with Oracle technology and applications to share that can

to make inroads in the community by personalizing your conference experience

so you can gain more from – and contribute more to - the event. See our new

networking–by–topic program on page 13.

We extend our sincere thanks to the many speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and

volunteers who have contributed the top–quality content you’re about to enjoy

and who lent logistical support. Thanks to them, we’ll all leave here with a better

mastery of our business and technical skills and understanding of evolving

technology environments.

Oracle representatives are here in full force, with over 300 associates participating

in sessions, panels, roadmaps and demos to better understand you, their

customers, and to help drive your success through education and dialogue.

President Mark Sunday in the Tuesday morning keynote, IT at Oracle: The Art of IT

Transformation to Enable Business Growth.

It’s a great honor to welcome Captain Mark Kelly, a true American hero in every

sense. As commander of the Space Shuttle Endeavour’s

husband to former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who survived an

keynote, Leadership, Teamwork and Courage, will surely be inspiring.

When it’s all said and done, we are always enlightened by your feedback. Please

watch your inboxes for your post-conference surveys and share your opinions to

help make COLLABORATE 13 in Denver even better.

2012 Distinguished Service Award Winners

Congratulations to the 2012 Quest Distinguished Service

Award Winners! Attend the Meeting of the Members,

Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Mandalay Bay Ballroom G to

help congratulate this year’s award winners.

NEWCOMER AWARD

Thomas Schmidt has made an impact on Quest from the onset of his membership. He immediately volunteered for the JD Edwards Advisory Board, adding his leadership abilities to an already strong group and immediately made efforts to support the Quest Leadership Community.

CUSTOMER CONTENT CONTRIBUTOR AWARD

Tara has made an impression on the content team as a true leader and is not only an involved presenter and active participant in her SIG but has also contributed to the online community and Q&A magazine.

USER GROUP SERVICE AWARD

Jo Ann works tirelessly as a Midwest RUG president and in the last eighteen months has partnered with Quest to co-produce the annual MWRUG event. She also organizes several smaller networking events in Chicago throughout the year to keep the local community active and engaged.

STANDING OVATION AWARD

Congratulations to Sarah Mills, City of Olathe, Kansas, for the presentation given at Quest Midwest in Chicago, November 2011. Attendees enjoyed it so much that it was requested to be repeated at COLLABORATE 12.

We would also like to congratulate and thank David McIlmoyl for his outstanding educational presentations for the JD Edwards Tools user community. David has presented at many conferences and the education selection committee always welcomes him back.

ORACLE EMPLOYEE AWARD

Barb has been an advocate of Quest for many years during her tenure at Oracle. From product strategy to the upgrades team, she has always held the user community in high regard when exploring avenues to drive more customer participation and feedback for Oracle products.

USER GROUP SERVICE AWARD

Kevin Jackson is the current president of the Tri-State RUG. He has implemented several tactics to keep the Tri-State meetings fresh, such as ½ day meetings combined with Cincinnati Reds baseball outings and multi-person “user community panels” to provide fresh content.

We would also like to congratulate Jim Doolittle who,

listened to community feedback and is revitalizing the group. At the 2012 IOUC User Group Leader Summit, Jim picked up numerous ideas for his user community and has already begun implementing them.

BUSINESS PARTNER AWARD

and a consistent PeopleSoft content provider who helps build the overall community value for customers.

Council who has worked the past year to engage fellow business partners and develop new ideas for not only getting vendors more involved in the community, but also helping vendors provide their knowledge to customers.

FRIEND OF QUEST AWARD

Markus has been a tremendous partner to Quest. He was instrumental in the creation of Quest’s decision-maker community, the Quest Leadership Community, and he is a strong advocate for user groups, consistently encouraging customers to pursue membership in order to maximize the value of their ERP investment. Markus assists Quest with evaluating the new ERP landscape in light of Fusion Middleware and seeks opportunities to help us achieve our goals, whether it be through the offering of resources or customer introductions.

SPIRIT OF QUEST AWARD Bob Lieberman Bob truly exhibits the spirit of Quest through his dedicated service to the user group community. He served on the Quest Board of Directors for six years and was Treasurer for three of those years. Prior to his service on the Board, Bob was very involved with the Real Estate SIG. Bob never said no when Quest asked him for help and he poured himself into every project he was involved in.

QUEST LEGACY AWARD

John Schiff began his career with JD Edwards in February 1987 and celebrated his 25th anniversary with them this year. He has always been an advocate for user group involvement and has partnered with Quest since its inception in 1995. He has been, and remains, the face of the JD Edwards product line for our user community.
