Co-scholastic Theme Based Calendar Life Skills for Adaptive and Positive Behaviour

The school event calendar is theme based. Subjects are integrated with innovative activities that enhance multiple skills. Creativity, scientific temperament, presentation skills, environmental awareness, general knowledge, public speaking, sports and value education are incorporated seamlessly within the calendar. Assemblies give scope for 100% participation.

DPS Dubai instills life skills into every student in a very natural setting. Students gain the ability for adaptive and positive behavior which helps them to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. Students develop positive attitudes and values of perseverance, integrity, resilience, responsibility, camaraderie and effort. A multitude of learning experiences through career fairs, counseling and motivational talks by renowned speakers and authors is integrated in the curriculum.

Co-scholastic ActivitiesDPS Dubai incorporates holistic education for students in the school curriculum by integrating life skills, values, health, community service, literary programs, environmental awareness and aesthetics. The school encourages student-led initiatives in all co-scholastic activities.

Community Service and Environmental AwarenessProjects like Cleanliness Drives, SevaSankalp, Charity Drives, paper and can collection for recycling are standard practices at DPS Dubai. Working hand in hand with the Dubai government and EEG towards social causes are a few things that our students do on a regular basis. Mufti Days are observed for charitable causes. Fetes, sales and walkathons are organized to garner funds for social causes.

Sports and WellbeingThe school provides facilities for a wide range of games and sports. A structured sport education is in place at DPS Dubai. Certified coaches and state-of-the-art facilities have nurtured our students to be national and international champions. The popular games played in school are Football, Cricket, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Athletics and Swimming. A balanced lifestyle is the focus of the school.

Performing Arts and AestheticsThe Clubs at DPS Dubai encourage every student to nurture an art form and perfect it well enough to stage it on the Annual Day. Performing Arts (Dance and Dram), Music (Western and Indian),Art, Public Speaking are taught at the clubs.Quiz, Environmental Awareness, Math, Science, and Innovation clubs are some of the popular choices of the students. Model UN, Business and Entrepreneurship clubs enhance the soft skills of the students.

Literary ProgramsDPS Dubai boasts of four well stocked libraries with contemporary, age appropriate books and study material. The READ Program (Read with Ease and Delight) is an innovative program which aims at encouraging students to foster a life time love of reading. Carefully selected books are provided to the students from KG I to grade XII. Meaningful discussions, and other related activities are a special feature of the READ program in which all students participate.

The theme of the academic year is explored through the Multidisciplinary Annual Day by the Middle and Senior school. The co-scholastic skills learnt throughout the year are specially highlighted. Every student showcases his or her talent in a particular discipline. The little ones have their own Annual Day and Sports Day.

To further enhance the talent of every student, special provision is made in the form of evening activities. Students can choose from Sports, Art, Music, and Dance classes conducted after school hours under the supervision of trained staff.

Excursions are conducted on a regular basis which cover important educational sites; the book fairs, museums, art galleries, zoos, aquariums, science fairs and edutainment arcades. Tours are organized within the U.A.E to make students aware of the important landmarks of the U.A.E.

Actualization of TalentStudents are nurtured to compete at the interschool, national and international level. Talent Tap competitions are organized at every phase to bring talent to the fore. It is a matter of great pride to us that our students have brought home international awards and accolades. They have shown their mettle by winning championships at the CBSE International Sports Meet. DPS Dubai has won top awards in performing arts, literature and public speaking, science and innovation, technology and general knowledge. Students have proved their acumen at international relations and conflict resolution by hosting International MUN programs.
