Dear 4-H Families, I have enjoyed reading the 4-H club calendars with the many educational programs and FUN activities that are planned for the upcoming year! In addition to the great events happening in your club, check out the 2017 4-H Calendar in this newsletter with a listing of county and state 4-H opportunities. It is going to be a great year!
Here are a few highlights of upcoming events: 4-H Volunteer Workshop - All youth and adult volunteers are invited to meet other volun-teers, learn new ideas and have FUN! The workshop will be held February 18, 9 a.m.-Noon at the Wallace Student Center, UW-Richland and is hosted by Crawford, Rich-land and Vernon Counties. You will learn how to strengthen youth/adult partnerships when planning and leading 4-H events; learn more about the “hands-on” experiential learning that 4-H is famous for; and trade amazing ideas with 4-H leaders from through southwest Wisconsin! Be sure to bring ideas and handouts to share! Are you interested in becoming a 4-H volunteer? An orientation session for new 4-H volunteers will be offered.. Richland County 4-H Arts Festival - 4-H youth can demonstrate their skills in public speaking, singing, and playing an instrument. Show off your artistic talents on Sunday, March 19, 1 p.m. at the Richland Center High School. Registration is due February 28th. Public is welcome to attend. 4-H Camp - If you enjoy the outdoors, you won’t want to miss 4-H camp this summer at Camp Upham Woods, Wisconsin Dells! Canoeing, hiking and hanging out with friends are just a few of the fun activities planned for youth in 3rd-8th grades at 4-H camp on July 20-22! Older 4-H members, 9th-13th grade, are encouraged to apply to be a counselor at 4-H Camp. Counselor applications are due March 1. Looking forward to a GREAT year with Richland County 4-H!
