Kalejhi Kasuka is travelling to Zambia
to volunteer this summer in order to help young mothers and young adults
with human rights issues. She is
fundraising for the programme and will
be holding a Bake Sale on Sundays
19th and 26th March and 2nd, 9th
and 16th April in the church hall after the 10.00 am service.
The money raised will be split, some
paying for the programme and some
paying for the flight. As for accommodation, she will be living with
her family, most of them are in Zambia.
Kalejhi is one of Mable Kasuka’s
daughters, she was confirmed here and
at present she is studying Law at the University of York.
We hope you will support Kalejhi.
Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro - Ellie Jewiss is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in August in aid of Child Reach International. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the summit is 19,341 feet above sea level. Ellie is the granddaughter of Sheila and Keith Knight and has previously completed the London Marathon. This time each climber has to raise just under £3,000. Please speak to Sheila or Keith if you would like to contribute towards this.

LENT ENVELOPES
This morning when you came into church you were given an envelope containing a leaflet about the charities we are supporting this year. Money given during Lent makes up a major part of our charitable giving. Could you please put some money in the envelope each week during Lent and bring your envelope back on Easter Sunday. Thank you. Please look at Veronica’s display giving much more information about the charities.
On Palm Sunday 9th April there will
be a special service with reading and
choral items, as we begin Holy Week.
Mothers’ Union is raffling a Simnel Cake kindly made by David Williams. Tickets priced at £1 each are on sale now until Mothering Sunday. All proceeds to Mothers’ Union projects.
Mothers’ Union invite you to their Agape meal at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 14th March in the church hall. This is basically a celebration of Holy Communion with a cold lamb meal. To assist with catering, will you please sign the list at the back of the church if you would like to come. The suggested donation to cover costs will be approximately £4. We look forward to seeing you there.
Mustard Seed will be meeting in the church hall on Thursday 16th March at 3.00 pm. Please come and enjoy a cup of tea with us - this is a good opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones.

You are invited to a Lent Lunch on Thursday 23rd March from 12.00—2.30 pm at Brigitte’s, 11 The Avenue. Lunch will consist of soup and a roll and a cup of tea. There is no set cost but donations will go towards our charitable giving this year. If you are hoping to attend please give Brigitte a ring on 01474 537867. All are welcome, please come. Please look out for dates for other lunches during Lent.

special service admitting 6
children to Holy Communion.

Our Conversation; our Future
Please stay after the 10.00 am service
today as we take part in the Diocesan
project “Our Conversation; Our
Future”.
This is our opportunity to explore our
priorities for the church in Gravesend
into the future ... and to share those
findings with those shaping priorities in
the Diocese.
We will end with a simple shared
meal.
Gravesham Street Pastors are looking for recruits, especially from the Anglican Churches. Duties are occasional and training is provided. If you can help please have a word with Sue.
Mothering Sunday is 26th March and
this will be the next All Age Service at
10.00 am.
On Saturday 25th we will making up posies
of daffodils to give to mothers at the All Age
Service.
Please come along to the church at 9.30 am
to give a hand with this.
