Outlines the purpose, implements policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures under 10 U.S.C. Section 1059 [reference (b)] for the payment of monthly transitional compensation to dependents of members separated for dependent abuse.” [1.2] Reviews payments, forfeiture, definitions of abuse, and related TC information.

Implements section 573 of the National Defense Authorization Act FY 2004 Public Law 108-136;10 USC 1059(m), which reinforces use of updated DoDI 1342.24.

Provides Army guidance on TC of which the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) G9 Family and MWR Programs assumed proponency and began authorizing payments in August 1995 in accordance with DoD Instruction (DoDI) 1342.24. [4-12; Appendix H; Appendix B-2]
