Category: Venues & Events Created on Thursday, 16 July 2015 10:30

Scott Kelby, co-founder of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, bought his photographic tour to

Church House Conference Centre this week (Tuesday July 14) – his only stop in the UK.

The Shoot Like a Pro: Reloaded! tour provides photographers with an insight into how to take their skills to the next

level showcasing concepts, ideas and techniques to create unique images. Future tour dates will be held in

Washington, San Francisco and Philadelphia.

The one day seminar attracted 275 photographers who participated in a number of masterclasses on topics including Really

Great Lighting on a Really Tight Budget, Photo Recipes: A Cookbook of Looks (and exactly how to create them) and Scott’s

7-Point System for Lightroom (or Camera Raw).

Jeff Revel, who assisted with organisation of the event, commented: “We were delighted to bring the Shoot Like a Pro:

Reloaded! tour to the UK and Church House was an ideal venue for the event. It was centrally located and provided us with all the facilities we needed to ensure our delegates

got the most out of the day.”

Robin Parker, General Manager of Church House Conference Centre, comments: “It was a great coup for Church House that we were chosen to host the only seminar on

the tour to be held outside of America. We have seen a diversification away from the traditional conferences being held within our walls in the last 12 months and this is just

an example of one of the many different type of events which are now choosing Church House. We were delighted to host such a fantastic event and hope all the delegates

enjoyed learning from one of the world’s most well know Photoshop experts.”

Church House Conference Centre is an AIM Gold accredited venue which offers 19 event spaces accommodating between 2 and 664 guests for a wide variety of events

including meetings, conferences, awards ceremonies, gala dinners and receptions.

Diabetes UK will once again host a celebration to mark their fundraisers’ efforts in tackling the Prudential RideLondon-

Surrey 100 at Church House Conference Centre.

Taking place on Sunday August 2, the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is the biggest closed-road bike ride in the UK.

This year over 25,000 cyclists are set to take part in the ride, with events for everyone from beginners to the elite.

A team of around 160 cyclists will be taking part in the 100 mile challenge on behalf of Diabetes UK to raise vital funds for the

charity, which cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of every person living with or at risk of diabetes in the UK. This

year, the charity is hoping to raise £111,000 to further develop its work.

Following the gruelling event, the charity will host a cool down party at Church House to thank the riders for their support and

celebrate their achievements with friends, family and supporters. It will be the occasion for participants to share their experiences

whilst enjoying refreshments and a well-earned massage.

Anna Schlerf, Fundraising Events Manager at Diabetes UK, said: “Our cool down party will give the cyclists the opportunity to

meet the Diabetes UK staff and have a well-deserved rest after their ride. Initially we chose Church House due to the close

proximity to the event’s finishing line on the Mall, the size of the venue and the facility for bike storage. This will be our third year

using Church House for the event, so it will be very familiar to our regular cyclists.”

Church House Conference Centre’s General Manager, Robin Parker, commented: “The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey is one of

the real legacies of the Olympic Games. Those taking part in the event on behalf of Diabetes UK should be applauded for their

efforts and we are delighted to be supporting the charity as the host venue for its post-race celebrations.”

Situated in the heart of Westminster Church House Conference Centre is one of London’s most versatile event venues. The AIM

Gold accredited venue offers 19 flexible event spaces, which accommodate between 2 and 664 guests, and host a wide variety

of events including meetings, conferences, awards ceremonies, gala dinners and receptions.
