CHRISTMAS IN OUR SCHOOL

Page 2: Christmas Tradition

Christmas is special time in a year. Before Christmas I tidy my room and make a cake. My mum cooks the Christmas dishes and tidies the house. My older sister cleans the windows. My dad and my younger sister help everyone. On Christmas Eve we go to my grandmother. Than we lay the table. Grandma reads the Bible. We share the Christmas wafer and we begin the Christmas Eve supper. After supper it’s time for presents. On Christmas Day we go home. The next days of Christmas we spend at home. Magda W.

Hello,I’m from Poland. Christmas is a very special time in our country. In Poland we start celebrating Christmas on 24 December and this day is called the Christmas Eve. Then there is Christmas Day and finally we have the Second Day of Christmas on 26 December. I and my brother decorate the Christmas tree. We decorate it with electric candles, colorful balls and chains. My mum cooks many delicious dishes. For example it’s: borsch, fish (carp), dumplings, poppy-seed cake and cakes. The tradition says that there must be twelve dishes on the table. My grandmother decorates Christmas table. Children don’t go to school. On Christmas Day we find a lot of presents under the Christmas tree. Young children believe that presents are from Santa Claus. The whole family gather round the table to have Christmas dinner. We sing Christmas carols. Polish Christmas is the most beautiful. It is my favourite festival.

Merry Christmas,

Giulia E.

Before Christmas I and my siblings decorate our Christmas tree and we clean the whole house. My mum and sister make cakes

and other Christmas dishes. My grandma makes noodles with cottage cheese and with poppy seed.

I and my family visit my grandma on Christmas Eve. My aunts and uncles are there too.

Before Christmas Eve we lay the table. We put some hay under the table cloth. Later we pray, read the Bible and share Christmas wafer. After that we sit at the table and eat dishes.

Together we sing carols and we share gifts with each other. Later I go back to my house and wrap off gifts from my parents. At

midnight I go to church. After mass I go back to house and go to bed.

I like decoratig Christmas tree and wrapping presents very much!!!
