Christmas Morning Devotional Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016 Prior to opening presents or starting other activities, here’s a suggested activity for Christmas morning. Gather the family (perhaps near the Christmas tree), maybe have hot chocolate/coffee or a light pastry there for everyone, and bring your Bible and a device where you can access a couple online audio links handy. Then walk through this brief guide through a time of focus on what this day is all about. 1. Read this aloud: Merry Christmas! This is the day that we’ve been preparing for and focusing lots of shopping, planning, and anticipation on. It’s finally here! Before we dive into the festivities and activities of the day, and before we open the presents we’ve prepared and wrapped for each other, let’s take a few minutes to focus on what today is all about, and how we can make sure it stays at the center of our hearts. 2. Scripture Reading: Open your Bible to Luke 2 and read verses 1-20. 3. Read: Have someone read aloud (or take turns reading a section each) the excerpt from the book Because of Bethlehem by Max Lucado on the inside pages of this guide (then proceed to the back page). continued
