Southwest Behavioral and Health Services will facilitate an Internet Safety presentation covering cyberbullying, social media “influencers”, peer pressure, and the harm to the reputation of our youth. We will also take a close look at drug purchasing, online predators, and human/sex trafficking. Parental/caregiver resources will be provided at the end of the presentation in order to help with any questions, needs, or concerns that may arise for participants.     Strong Families Month

    Featured Strong Families Activity

    May is Strong Families Month. A month that celebrates family togetherness and traditions while offering education for parents and children.     Sidney P. Osborn GardenComposting is now available for community use at the Sidney P. Osborn Community Garden! The three-compartment compost bin breaks down food and yard waste into nutrient-rich soil for the SPO Community Garden. Consider saving your food scraps and disposing of them in the eastern-most bin. Once the food scraps have broken down, garden members will move them to the middle bin for their next stage in the decomposition process. All are invited to participate.

    Join Section 3 in the transformation of your community. Section 3 is a HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development) program that offers priority employment opportunities to public housing residents in the communities being rebuilt. The City of Phoenix has a five-year plan to revitalize public housing communities.

    As part of the PHXHousing Connect Program, the Housing Department has been able to supply nearly 400 tablets with 2 years of internet services to families with school-aged children and senior residents here in Edison-Eastlake.

    We realize that there may be other households in need of a device and internet connectivity who were not eligible during earlier tablet distributions. Please contact your caseworker today to express your need for a device and internet service.

    Jardín Sidney P. Osborn ¡El compostaje ya está disponible para uso comunitario en el Jardín Comunitario Sidney P. Osborn! El contenedor de compost de tres compartimentos descompone los residuos de alimentos y patios en suelo rico en nutrientes para el Jardín Comunitario SPO.
