Chinese Water Garden A Reenactment of classical gardens of
Suzhou, a UNESCO World Heritage
CALL FOR DESIGN SUBMISSION Opposite Logan Temple on 200 East
Corridor and with a rare stretch of canal accessible to wildlife on
the west (see pictures on top), Little Bloomsbury is strategically
positioned to reenact a UNESCO world heritage as a legacy to
enthuse the general public and benefit the arts community for years
to come.
The Little Bloomsbury 10th Anniversary Arts Project is inspired
by gardens of harmonized aestheticism in the reclusive
single-household confines of urban living in Suzhou, China dating
back to the 11th century B.C. (see other pictures.) The reenactment
involves the creation of a microcosm of nature, adapting natural
and recycled materials and utilizing 1,800 Sq. ft of open space in
the form of a walkout from the historically preserved Little
Bloomsbury main structure of the same square footage. As is typical
of Chinese arts and outlook, the project is aimed at reenacting a
world of antechambers after antechambers with ensembles of a
bridge, pavilion, chess table, garden furniture, lanterns,
calligraphy, sculptures, rock formations, and other land art.
PROJECT BRIEFING & DEADLINE: The award-eligible early-bird
entry deadline is 2 PM, Monday, July 13. Project briefings are
given at 2 PM on Saturdays at 181 N 200 E, Logan during the Little
Bloomsbury Chinese Cultural Workshop. The workshop is free and open
