Choose flat defect-free boards inthe wood of your choice tor
theframe. Rip them on the table saw intostrips 13/4" wide. Remove
all sawmarks with a plane or jointer. Do not

crosspieces.You will also need one piece 53/4" x 28 1/2" to be used
for thelower section.
Drill dowel holes as indicated; theuse of a doweling jig and
dowel cen-ters is recommended. Mark of! thehole locations and drill
into the ends
of the crosspieces. Make the holes3/8" in diameter and 1 1/16"
deep.Because of the narrow width (1 3/4")use only one dowel per
joint. The jigwill automatically center the hole.After drilling the
crosspieces, usedowel centers to transfer the holelocations to the
