Good morning to all of you and welcome you all to the Faculty Development Program with a theme of Intelligent Manufacturing System. It's my pleasure and privilege to be the Chief guest of this program.

We are observing massive global changes all around us! Even in our society, family and next Gen. With smart phone and Internet most of us are more in future and each generation has an interpretation whether it's meaningful!

Sense of time and space is lost to our sons and daughters and we are yet to formulate our parental response to this phenomena like eating in a feast - more or less is wise?!As Luxuries of life get different meaning, aspiration of society also changes. What was very relevant and significant yesterday is no more important today and highly insignificant tomorrow.

Social, Media, Analytics and Digitization is providing echo system, embedded intelligence in everything is making them smarter and IoT makes all seamlessly integrated, Quantum wants to leap to yogic charms as zero and one co exists, we wonder will there be anything left for humans other than to become yogi! Yoga day is on 21st June - let's join in our county origination!

Gurukuls are to be formed again, students have to become practitioners of knowledge and wisdom and gurus a living legend.

Centre of Wisdom, Centre of Excellence and Centre of Future need to coexist!

Faculty development program is a very important dimension to these three.

At least 50% of faculty time should be devoted to other than direct teaching and faculties need to develop many skills from organizing and managing resources to research and development, preparing engaging content and project work, assessing and providing an integrated view on subject matter and recognition including further development and coaching as needed. Collaboration is key to excellence!
