BLANKETY BLANK BLANK: The Dodgers shutout the Cubs 5-0 yesterday and amazingly the club’s last six victories over Chicago have resulted in a shutout (including Games 2 and 3 of the 2016 NLCS). Los Angeles has four shutout victories on the season (three over the Cubs), which is tied for first in the NL with Colorado and Cincinnati. HOW GRAND(AL) IT IS: Yasmani Grandal has been posting big numbers during May, hitting .356 (26-for-73), which ranks fifth in the National League this month. In addition, Grandal’s 10 doubles this month are tied with Xander Bogaerts for second in the Majors, trailing only Toronto’s Devon Travis (15). BEST IN THE BIZ: The Dodger bullpen was again a one-man show yesterday as Ross Stripling tossed 3.0 scoreless innings for his first-career Major League save. Stripling is the fourth Dodger to record a save this season (Kenley Jansen, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Josh Fields) and all have at least one rescue of more than 1.0 inning. According to STATS, LLC, the Dodgers have led Major League Baseball in ERA a record 21 times since it became an official statistic in 1913. That’s more than the combined amount of the next two teams on the list, the Braves (13) and Cardinals (7). THAT ALL YOU GOT?: On this date in 2001, catcher Paul Lo Duca tied a Dodger record by collecting six hits against Colorado in an 11-inning victory.
