CHAPTER IVRESULT & DESIGN

4.1 GeneralAnalysisis the determination of the effects ofloadson physicalstructuresand theircomponents. Structures subject to this type of analysis include all that must withstand loads which is being subjected too. The results of the analysis are used to verify a structure's fitness for use, often savingphysical tests. Structural analysis is thus a key part of theengineering design of structures.Structural analysis means determination of the general shape and all the specific dimensions of a particular structure so that it will perform the function for which it is created and will safely withstand the influences which will act on it throughout its useful life.4.2 Vertical Load Analysis Vertical load analysis comprises with the dead and live load combination under the action of the gravity. Flexural members are designed for the moments and Shear forces whereas the compressive members are designed for axial loads mainly. Dead load & live load moments for sample continuous beam (1137-1138-1139-1140-1150-1141-1142-1143-1144-1145-1146-1147-1148-1149) from current structure are shown in fig ______. Shear forces are important parameter for design of transverse reinforcement also the nature and magnitude are important for locating the zones of reinforcement while the bending moment are important for the calculation of the main reinforcement and the position of the reinforcement.
