This week at playgroup

Dear Parents and Carers

We hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday and have enjoyed eating lots of chocolate and having fun with friends and family. We are all looking forward to the Summer term and seeing all of the children this week. We have lots of new children starting this half term, we welcome Jack, Sophia, Blake, Parker and Sophie.

REMINDERS

We are continuing with the theme of family, so please remember to upload family photos to Babysdays. If you are unsure of how to do this then please speak to a member of staff!

Please can we also remind all parents to take all belongings home, we have to become invisible during cricket season, and the staff pack everything away, so please help us by taking everything home with you each day.

A big thanks to all of the team for their hard work and dedication and well done to Marie as manager of playgroup who has achieved a ‘good’ after starting the role in January!!

We would also like to say thanks to all of our supportive parents and wonderful children who are the reason we do everything we do!

Woodland Warriors is back this week. The spaces for this are very limited now the weather is warming up and we have new children starting after Easter, therefore on the day bookings will not be able to be taken – you must book before MIDDAY ON WEDNESDAY.

Easter Egg Hunt

A big thank you to everyone who attended the event on Good Friday, we had excellent weather and lots of fun was had by all! If you have any feedback about this event then please do email us. We are always looking to improve and develop our fundraising events. We raised £1218 which is amazing and we couldn’t have done it without your support. A big thanks to all the trustees who donated eggs, refreshments and time and the staff for giving up their Good Friday.

FOREST SCHOOL LEADER TRAINING

Marie was very busy in the holidays undertaking Forest School Leader training for a week at Shortnehills. Marie had a very intense wet week but has come back buzzing and ready to work with Melanie to become a leader herself. She learnt about the advantages of forest school, safe fire building, shelter building and how to teach the safe usage of tools. Marie said it was a great experience and she is excited to bring more forest school learning opportunities to playgroup.

FAMILY FUN DAY 12 TH MAY 11-2

This week is the last week for donations please bring in BOTTLES, JOLLY JAR donations and any other prizes you may have such as shop vouchers, restaurant vouchers etc.

We desperately need Gazebos – do you have a gazebo? Could you lend it to us for the fun day? Please let us know ASAP.

OTHER HELP NEEDED

Attractions and Demos

It is always fun to have other attractions at the event last year we had a racing car and a Stormtrooper and we have had dancing and kids activity demonstrations in the past such as cheerleading and Jo Jingles.  Again if any parents have contacts then please let us know or if you have any ideas for attractions for 2019.

External Stalls

We have external companies with stalls at the event.  Stalls are £20 in advance. Previous stalls include  Us-borne Books, Aloe Vera, Better Gym, craft stalls.  If you would like a stall or know someone who would then please let me know and I will send out a booking form.  Stall holders must provide their own gazebo.

Cake donations for our refreshments/afternoon tea please if you are a keen baker please let us know and cakes can be brought to us on the morning of the event during set up with starts at 9:30!

I will print out the jobs list please check this again and let me know ASAP if there are any problems.
