12. A TEMPORARY 1.5m HIGH POST & WIRE FENCE SHALL BE ERECTED AND MAINTAINED AROUND EXISTING TREES, NOMINATED TO BE RETAINED AS PER A TREE PROTECTION ZONE (TPZ) CONDITION, AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION. 14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE COUNCIL'S REPRESENTATIVE PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN ALL NECESSARY WARNING SIGNAGE, LIGHTING AND BARRICADING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROAD MANAGEMENT ACT.

15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE PROPER PROVISION AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS FOR THE LEGAL DIVERSION OF FLOOD AND DRAINAGE WATERS AND THE PROPER DISCHARGING OF FLOWS DURING THE PROGRESS OF THE WORKS.

19. DRAINAGE TRENCHES WITHIN ROAD RESERVE AND PAVED AREAS TO BE BACKFILLED AND REINSTATED AS PER MAROONDAH CITY COUNCIL STANDARD DRAWING MCC-105.

20. ALL PITS TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH COUNCIL'S STANDARD DRAWINGS AND AS NOTED ON THE PLAN. PITS DEEPER THAN 1.0m TO HAVE STEP IRONS PROVIDED AS PER MAROONDAH CITY COUNCIL STANDARD DRAWINGS.

21. SHAPE INVERT OF ALL PIT FLOORS WITH MASS CONCRETE TO PROVIDE A SMOOTH TRANSITION BETWEEN PIPES UP TO SPRINGING LINE.

22. ON COMPLETION THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMOVAL OF ALL BUILDING WASTE, RUBBISH AND SPOIL FROM THE SITE. NO SURPLUS TREES, VEGETATION OR OTHER MATERIALS IS TO BE BURNT ON SITE.

PROCEDURES FOR THE PLACEMENT OF COMPACTED FILL23. STRIP OFF ANY TOPSOIL AND ROOT MATTER TO EXPOSE THE SUBGRADE.

24. THE EXPOSED SUBGRADE SHOULD BE MOISTURE CONDITIONED TO WITHIN 3% OF OPTIMUM MOISTURE CONTENT (OMC) AND COMPACTED OVER THE TOP 200MM TO ACHIEVE A MINIMUM DRY DENSITY RATIO OF 95% STANDARD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS1289 5.1.1 AND 5.4.1 OR 5.7.1.

25. ANY SOFT OR WEAK AREAS IDENTIFIED DURING THE SUBGRADE PREPARATION PROCESS SHOULD BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH SELECT FILL IN LAYERS NOT EXCEEDING 200MM LOOSE THICKNESS AND SHOULD BE COMPACTED TO ACHIEVE A DRY DENSITYRATIO OF AT LEAST 95% STANDARD IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS 1289 5.1.1,5.4.1 OR 5.7.1. EXCAVATIONS TO REMOVE ANY SOFT OR WEAK AREAS SHOULD HAVE SIDE SLOPES BATTERED NOT STEEPER THAN 1H: 1V.

26. EMBANKMENT FILL SHOULD THEN BE PLACED IN LAYERS AND COMPACTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS, WHILE MAINTAINING THE DESIGNED SLOPES UNTIL THE FINISHED EMBANKMENT LEVEL IS REACHED.

27. MATERIAL FROM SITE EXCAVATIONS TO BE USED AS FILL FOR BATTER OR AS DIRECTED BY THE SUPERINTENDENT.
