NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODEThe electrofusion welding technology used with the Cable Tight™ system allows you to create seamless, watertight connections between electrical conduit and containment. This eliminates buried glued and threaded joints which can lead to liquid penetration. HDPE constructed components are used in the Cable Tight™ Electrofusion welding process. Before the NEC NFPA 70 2017 revision, HDPE was not listed in hazardous (classified) locations.

Specific NEC NFPA 70 2017 updates which allow the use of HDPE conduit include:

Is the Cable Tight™ system approved in your state? What to do next.

Use the map below to determine if your state of operation has adopted the NEC NFPA 70 2017 (green states). If it has, it may be suitable to install the Cable Tight™ system without further action. Check your local regulatory contact for guidance. For all other states, use this certification packet to obtain a deviation to allow HDPE conduit per the NEC NFPA 70 2017 revision.
