Central Tiger Tales A Leader in Me School - April 2020 A Message From Your Principal - Teacher Appreciation Week May 4th through May 8th Dear Central Families, What a memorable spring this has been for the students and staff of our Lebanon Community Schools. Never could we have imagined when our students exited the building on March 12th that we would not return for the duration of the 2019-20 school year. Knowing we will end the year without being present with our students seems very strange and counterintuitive to the very personal nature of our work as educators. We denitely have missed seeing and working with your children! In these unprecedented times, we recognize that the COVID 19 Quarantine has presented a number of challenges to our Central families and all families across the country. Your supportive partnership in helping us continue the educational process with your children means so much to our Central instructional team. I am very proud of our students as they embraced this eLearning journey without hesitation and you, our parent community, have contributed greatly to their success. It is an annual tradition each spring at Lebanon Community Schools to celebrate a Distinguished Educator from each school building. This honor coincides with our annual celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, a national recognition that is set for next week, May 4th through May 8th this year. It is my honor to share with you that this year Mrs. Jessica Frederick was selected by our Central Elementary team as our Distinguished Educator for 2019-2020. I hope you will join me in saying THANK YOU to our Central teachers. Their work as professional educators is demanding in the best of times. Their care and concern for creating the best possible distance learning opportunities for our students was always at the forefront of their work. I encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher to share a word of appreciation for their resilience and dedicated efforts this spring. Finally, we realize that you may have many questions as we close out this unique school year. Unfortunately, we have few answers at this time. Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate these uncertain times in education. Be assured that we will communicate any new developments as they unfold in the weeks ahead. Wishing you and your families continued health and safety. Sincerely, Rebecca Outcalt, Principal

Congratulations to Central Elementary'sFebruary Leaders of the Month!

Capturing Kindness!Even though we have been apart for some time now it is amazing the number of stories we have heardabout acts of kindness while still being safe. Birthday "car parades", sidewalk chalk messages, virtualphone calls, special deliveries, and hand written cards are just a few examples of these thoughtfuldeeds. Thank you Central Tiger Cubs for still being kind to others during this time at home. As thefamous saying goes, "In a world where you can be anything, be kind".
