celebrates the death and rebirth of Jesus.

HalloweenHalloweenOn October 31st people

dress up as witches, ghosts, monsters and in other costumes. Children often go house to house to get candies. There are many scary decorations,

including Jack O’ Lanterns made from

pumpkins.

Chinese calendar. People visit the graves of their

ancestors and pray.

personal holiday celebrating the day we were born. We often get

presents, have some cake or even invite

people to our birthday party.

This is a famous Irish holiday which many

other countries celebrate. It is a

springtime holiday, which is always on

March 17th in honour of an Irish Saint.

month of the Chinese lunar calendar. People eat moon cakes and

look at the moon. Children play with

lanterns.

races in decorated dragonboats and eat

delicious rice dumplings.

New Year many people celebrate with parties, singing and

dancing.

This autumn festival started out as a way to

celebrate a good harvest of farmers’ crops. Nowadays

its more about remembering things you are thankful for. Families

gather together and eat a good meal, often turkey

with pumpkin pie.
